When the final whistle went, Stags' chairman Teo Hock Seng struggled to keep his emotions in check as tears welled up as the long wait for the title is finally over.

Since he took over the helm 5 years ago, Teo has put his heart & soul into the club, spending a fortune on the team he loves so passionately & last night, it all paid off, as his charges put on a gallant performance to ensure the S-League championship trophy heads east, to a new home in Tampines. They are only the fourth club to win the title since 1996.

An emotional Teo said it has been a fantastic season for the club all round with the boys have worked hard for the title.

He was in a lost of words on how satisfied he was with the title as since he took charge of the Stags in 2000 he had worked towards the goal of bringing the league title to Tampines Rovers thus restoring it back to it status of a powerhouse.

Also as he donned a yellow T-shirt emblazoned with the words, 'Tampines S-League champions 2004', presented to him by a fan in the post-match celebration he had not forgotten about the fans saying they are another factor not forgotten in the title race.

As a parting word he took a shot at critics of his team & his polices this season saying people were saying we were a team of old fogeys while Others said this was a team of egos but Tampines are having the last laugh now.
