mocador

Mocador Productions was founded in 2000 with the goal of exploring fresh and new language, uncovering hidden communication, and reformulating cultural gestures—then translating all of these into challenging, yet entertaining, forms of theater. Its inaugural production was "Yi Sang Counts to Thirteen", based on the life and words of the Korean surrealist poet.

“Yi Sang’s life and prose are continually woven together like a tightly structured piece of classical music….Funny, morose, and delicious to watch, but above all, intelligent and professional.” --Eva Van Dok, NYTheater.com

“Wonderful, experimental work…a celebration of the surrealist form…as accessible as the Diet Coke that provides one of its ongoing metaphors: It is sweet, not too heavy, and it has the right amount of fizz to shake things up.”--Adam Klasfeld, Theatermania.com

“Everything existential theater should be”--Backstage
