Frequently Asked Questions
about OS/2 Native Doors

Q: I've got an OS/2 based BBS, why should I run native doors?
A: Two reasons.  First, you may be forced to run OS/2 native software due to lack of DOS door support.
For example, if you use a Digi multiport I/O card for multiple lines, then you can't use Ray Gwinn's SIO serial drivers, thus losing DOS door support. (Note that the current beta of SIO does allow DOS door performance in this situation!)
The second reason is a simple one:  Performance!
Q: What does OS/2 native mean, anyways?
A: It means that the source code is compiled to run as an OS/2 application.  Simply put, if the .EXE file won't run under DOS or Windows, then it's OS/2 native.
Q: I've got a question, how do I add it to this list?
    A: Mail me.
