Snails

Snails have their advantages and disadvantages. They eat the algea that grows on your tank walls and decorations. They eat the left over food that falls to the bottom of your tank. They also make good food for tropical fish like cichlids and puffers. Some of the disadvantages are their waste builds up, so you have to preform more water changes if you have fish in with them. They reproduce rapidly. They don't need a mate to reproduce, so if you start out with one then in a couple of weeks you could have hundreds of them. Even though they are slow, they are interesting to watch crawl around in its tank. There are many kinds of snails you can get for your aquarium.
