Shocking the Monkey:

exercises in creative protest

No More Mr. Nice Guy: As the prospect of military action looms, we of the Monkey Project are once again galvanized to performance art; our original mission of making socially responsible donations in the name of George W Bush and sending him the cards continues, but our primary focus now shifts to the creativity of the bodies in the streets:

We are showcasing protest-related CafePress designs by you, the Teeming Millions, in an easy-to-browse format.

recurring themes:
slashouts / traffic signs

postcards suitable for lobbying campaigns

Send in CafePress storeIDs and we will organize and present them, hopefully gaining the lot of us more exposure in the process. We are launching this project out of our own frustration at how piecemeal and fragmented the protest t-shirt and sticker market has become on the Web; we're drowning in our own success, and with so many messages out there, it becomes more and more difficult for any lone idea to gain any mindshare and reach critical mass in the public arena. So, by collecting as many examples as we can manage to together into this one place, we hope to make the marketplace of ideas just a teensy bit more user-friendly, for the artists and the patrons alike...

We would also like your help in compiling a directory to commercially-produced (IE non-CafePress) protest-related merchandising for a links section. Got a sticker that ya gotta share? Tell us!
