 Caveat Emptor 
Shimadzu
is a worldwide organization that has a myriad of problems as you will see. The parent
company is rooted in Japan, a culture
that prides itself on burying it's troubling past. In keeping with this theme,
Shimadzu USA (Columbia, MD) has repeatedly attempted to regulate free speech on the internet by going to great lengths to
censure this website! Shimadzu has since
been instructed to cease and desist! Do
the lowlifes at Shimadzu have something
to hide.... you betcha! Does Shimadzu want you to see the disquieting information that
others have written? Let's just say that this unscrupulous organization will pull the wool
over your eyes if you let them.... DON'T let them!
The
accompanying web pages contain many references to Shimadzu equipment that has been
characterized as defective, difficult to use, not intuitive, low quality, and unreliable,
for starters. And similar things have been voiced about Shimadzu's technical support and
service departments. This is why one rarely finds reference to the use of Shimadzu equipment in the scientific literature. Shimadzu will
tell you the things that you want to hear but they won't tell you what you need to hear
(eg, Shimadzu specializes in lies, denials and disappointments). Remember, this is an
organization that SHOULD NOT be trusted!
Maybe
you've seen and heard enough already but consider perusing what a disloyal Shimadzu
Regional Manager had to say.... read his
timeless memo! Then you can make up your own mind about Shimadzu products, service and
support! If you have any lingering doubts, you might ask why Shimadzu has seen a decline in net sales (when adjusted for
inflation) from 1993 to 2006 (that's 14 years running) when compared to FY 1992 (we'll take some of the credit for this). All
is not well, this anemic corporation is hemorrhaging profusely. They won't tell you this
--- we just did! Remember, DENY and LIE is
what they do BEST!
So you might
ask.... what kind of purchasing
considerations and demo demo guidelines
should one adopt before doing business with a prospective vendor? You might also
inquire.... who is selling quality instrumentation that is both rugged and reliable? Well,
