life on the last frontier

Hi I'm Sherry.
I signed up on 10/24/98.

My interests are:
Hiking, travel, reading...

The description of my page is:
A glimpse into life and recreation in Alaska as I've seen and lived it.

I live in the area known as the recreation center of Alaska, the Kenai Peninsula. My home is located between the twin cities of Kenai and Soldotna. (There are no town in Alaska, only cities and villages.) The world famous Kenai River is 1 mile as the raven flies from my home. The mountains are an easy hour drive up the highway. For the adventurous there is hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and mountain biking in the summer. In spite of our short days cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snow shoeing, and snow-mobiling fill up the winter recreation hours. I have lived in Alaska all my adult life, so I will be taking you to places I've been and relating experiences I've had. Alaskans think a little different, act a little different, and look a little different than our "kin" in the Lower 48. I'll be elaborating on these subjects as we move along. After you've spent some time with me, I hope you'll decide Alaska is a place you'd like to experience for yourself. While I'm at it, I'll try to answer the question "What's it like to live in Alaska?"

The typical Alaskan lifestyle emphasizes the importance of the family. I'd like to introduce you to mine.

Please come back and visit me soon.
