This I Believe

I believe in the ingenuity of man. Five centuries ago, mankind was a backward, primitive culture lacking any sort of real scientific knowledge, efficient means of production, or notably effective medicine. Since then, mankind has become a thriving society, with industry, medicine, and science advancing human lifespan and solving problems, with even in the poorest of regions superior to their past counterparts (poorest regions vs. poorest regions). Man’s ability to solve the problems that confront him with technology, intelligence, and observation has allowed us to overcome every obstacle. I believe that mankind will continue to invent, create, and solve, pushing our species farther ahead improving our lives. I believe in the ability of humanity to continue to overcome any obstacle, external, internal, or self-imposed, through our intelligence and ingenuity. I believe that we can and will ensure that humanity never stops improving itself and its abilities. I also believe in government, and its ability to keep mankind going in a forward direction. That the organization of a presiding individual or individuals is necessary to protect mankind from itself, while allowing us to improve our lives. I believe that any government is superior to no government. I believe that the chaos and anarchy of the vacuum that exists without a government is far more dangerous than any government could hope to be. The inexpressible importance of a single authority to ensure that order, peace, and prosperity is maintained throughout a population and its ability to improve their lives. This I believe.
