We spent sightseeing around the city of Bhaktapur and Changu Narayan. Bhaktapur with its five storey Nyatapola temple and the most exquisite of wooden carvings - the "Peacock window" - has been enlisted as a World Heritage Site.

Here, a rest day for acclimatization gave us the opportunity to climb to the higher Sagarmatha National Park, headquarters for headquarters for views of Everest, Thamserku, Amadablam, and more. We also visited the Saturday market where Tibetan traders, who had travelled on foot from Tibet, sell their goods.
