During the group's mini-break, Sticky kept himself busy by appearing in a few movies. He adds to his credits: "Lockdown," "True Vinyl," "Black & White," "Love Goggles," and "The Price of Air". He also released a solo cd called "Black Trash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones" back in February 2001.
The "Black Trash" cd was off the chain. Well, it was to those who truly support that underground sound. The brother got loose as he took this joint to another level. He described the album as "One big picture"... an audio movie. Sticky felt that "Black Trash" erased the line between movies and music.
On this cd, Sticky collabbed with hip hop's hottest like, Canibus, Rah Digga, Dave Hollister, Raekwon, Red man and also Eminem. He and Em recorded an ill track called, "What If I Was White."
Sticky's single "Get It Up" made major waves. If you never peeped the video, then just click this link Get It Up
Sticky's spastic style can be described as frantic, intense and some may say he's even manic-- but whichever way you describe it, when Sticky gets going on a track, you know it's about to be hot ta death! With tracks like "What If I was White," he'll definitely keep the industry on it's toes.
The cd was Executive Produced by cousin Fredro Starr, who finally got his production props. Most people don't know that Fredro also executive produced all of Onyx's cds. He and Fredro recorded "Soldier," for Fredro's solo joint "Firestarr."
The ladies know that Sticky has also been working on his body as well as his music. He showed off his sometimes nude form in the 2000 calandar that was like WHOA!
In other news, HBO's new show, "Empire," has recruited rapper Sticky Fingers (Onyx) for its cast. The series, about two brothers in the hip hop entertainment game, is from Sofia Coppola, daughter of producer/director Francis Ford Coppola.
