* Learner's agreement to become full class and took a test to become QS-9000 cerified; also cerified forklift driver. * Manufacturing, designing, and operations include assembly, material handling, and control of the machining operations. * Set up dies for operators and inspect pieces before running. * When machines fo down had to trouble shoot the problems and perform the operations: changed broken cores, replaced hoses, and maintained machines. * Made adjustments on machines and dies when needed also doing some machining of parts on the assembly and have my own tools.
The company downsized and closed up some of the departments.
1997 - 1999 Evinrude/Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) Milwaukee, WI. Computer Numerical Centering Machinist/Setup General Machining
* Signed learner's agreement to become full class. * Ran and set up an automatic sand blaster to sand blast propellers. * Main parts ran on CNC's were ivot tubs, drive shafts, and axles. * The CNC's were either vertical or horizontal machining centers that included Swedturns, Wasino's, Hobbing of gears for drive shafts, and James and Lombsons, which included some form of computer based programming either func or g-codes. * Made tool-setting adjustments (offsets) on computers to advance tooling to take off or add more material keeping close tolerances. * Inspected parts for defects at 100% using either metric or inches with the following gauges: Depth micrometer, Dial Caliper, Dial magnetic indicator, Telescope gages, Thickness gauges, High gauges, Reef gauges or Snap gauges, Pin gauges, and some form of an Optical scope to see burs, gouges, steps to make sure that the parts meet blue print specks.
The company outsourced the jobs causing the employees to be laid off and then went bankrupt closing its doors.
1993 - 1997 Hampel Corporation Germantow, WI. Computer Numerical Centering Machinist
* Primarily a manufacturing company with the core competency in thermoforming and related processes. * The making of Calf-tel hutches which are a calf shelter used by dairy farmers worldwide and Country Classic portable restrooms. * Worked on a five axes CNC router machine, hand routed thermo formed parts. * Loaded, unloaded, and trimmed parts from various thermo forming machines of various sizes. * Vacuumed parts to molds, CNC trimming and assembling of the Calf-tel hutches.
I quit due to looking for better pay and a complete benefit package.
