From the dawn of human history, Mother Nature has supplied us with both food and medicine. Rediscover the remedies that Nature has provided. I suffer from Myofasial Pain Syndrome, a condition that causes severe muscle pain and spasms. I did not want to become dependent on prescription pain killers which left me feeling lethargic, so I embarked on a journey to learn as much as I could about natural healing....I went to work part time in a health food store and started taking classes in Herbalism and Nutrition, the result is turning back to the remedies Nature has always provided and empowering myself to take care of my own body. I do on occasion have to rely on conventional medicine but feel so much healthier by incorporating some natural healthy practices into my life. I would like to share some of my discoveries with you.

Vegatables: Packed with all the goodness of sun and soil. Eat these colorful energy givers in abundance. Eating live food - food that grows in the soil, that is fresh and close to its natural formcontributes to the efficient energy system that is your body. Because live food gives the body more energy than it uses up during the process of digestion, energy remains available to burn excess fat, to help suppress disease, and to maintain a state of balance.

Fruits are Ideal food: Eat as much as you wish. Wash very good to remove any pesticides and chemicals or try to find Organic...a little more expensive but well worth it.

Pasta, Rice, and Potatoes: Slow burning, efficient fuels that provide sustained energy to help your body stay well.

Nuts, Avocados, and Olive Oil: Contain no cholestrol. They are healthy in moderation.

Whole Grain Breads and Cereal: A life enhancing source of complex carbohydrates.

Dairy Products: Avoid regular full fat dairy...it makes your mucous membranes work harder and also clogs the system. Opt for low fat dairy in moderation.

Meat: Is not an ideal food, Make a concious decision not to burden your body and mind with flesh foods...they make you feel sleepy because they need so much valuable energy to digest.  If you must have meat ...opt for fresh fish and poultry.

Ideal food stimulates our healing force, nurtures our spirit, and inspires us to think, feel, and act in ways promoting harmony and balance. Honoring yourself for your choice of food and regarding food with gratitude sets off a subtle adjustment within your body and mind that allows you to receive more of the healthful essence of what you are eating.

Ideal Eating: Eat mostly fresh fruits and juices till noon. Eat one meal of mostly vegatables and bread and have one hearty meal of pasta, potatoes, or rice and vegetables. The added ingredient is LOVE.

Preparing meals for yourself and your loved ones is such a rewarding and satisfying ritual. When using, live, whole foods you can infuse so much energy into them. Ask the Earth Mother to bless your food with her healing energies and infuse them with your love and happiness.

Antioxidants and Free Radicals: Free Radicals are highly reactive, unstable molecules that are part of the body's natural aging process. They hunt for balanced molecules to bond with by stealing electrons from them in the process called oxidation, which leaves them unstable in return.
