EARTH SPIRIT
THIRTEEN DOVES
My spiritual path has been rather eclectic, predominately Wiccan/Pagan at the core with Zen influences. I am a very open minded person, so I tend to research and study various teachings and spiritual practices. I can not put a name or label on my personal path because I have incorporated aspects of many different belief systems and created my own. My husband shares my beliefs.
I am very intuitive and let Spirit guide me to where I need to be. Lately, I have been drawn to Native American and ancient European Shamanism. I want to share an experience I had this morning. I woke up and came in to check my e-mail, there was one from a Shaman who had visited my site. It was about animal totems, I read it with much interest and was thinking about animal spirit guides, I went out on our breeze way for my morning cup of java and on the electric line right in front of our house were thirteen doves perched in a row. They just sat there, I even went and woke my husband to come look and still they all stayed there facing our direction. Maybe this means something and maybe it does not, but I choose to believe it is a sign from Spirit. Three years ago I lost one of the most important and special persons in my life to suicide. All during the funeral I kept noticing a dove that was perched in a tree along side her grave site. And after that I had one lone dove that would visit every morning while having my coffee on the deck. This was very comforting to me and when we purchased our new home I hated leaving that dove behind. But when we moved into our new home I had a daily visit from a lone dove here too. Could it be the same one? I do not know, but brings me comfort just the same. At the present time, two members of our family have terminal illnesses and I have been thinking alot about how many family members we have lost and how soon there will not be many of us left here.....and then, thirteen doves. A perfect number to depict family or a coven. The message I choose from this is that my family will always be with me in Spirit and in my heart. And the doves will bring us comfort. Thank you Great Spirit.

THE WISE ONES
The American Indian regarded every life as a walk or dance - a movement of creative energy around the Wheel of Life. The steps we take can tune us in to the rhythm of the planet and of the universe to form a choreography of harmony and beauty which is what the Soul Self intended. Balance and harmony the Beauty Way was the spirit of the Native American peoples and of the Wise Ones of all races of old. The time is now. The essence of the ancient wisdom is once again becoming manifest and available to all whose minds are open enough to recieve it.
WAKAN - TANKA'S TALK
Wakan - Tanka talks with me
Through pages of no book
Penned by the thoughts of men.
No words, no creed, no dogma
Writes he to bind me to a clan.
In flight of birds that wing their way
To lands beyond my sight
In trees that root and take their time
To grow to their full height
In flowers whose petals hold
Such fragrance in their clasp
And every single animal
With purpose in its grasp
In Sun that rises with each Dawn
To herald a new start
In Moon that holds the ebb and flow
Of tides within Her hand
In Venus, Jupiter, and Mars
And stars that form His heavenly band
In everything that breathes
And moves
And crawls
And flows
And stands
Wakan - Tanka talks with me.
