Lily of the Valley

Here are the scanned images of my pillow that I did with the Lily of the Valley designs. I did them on black weaver's cloth and added some purchased cotton lace. I couldn't get the scanner to include the whole pillow so you can only see most of the pillow. The second image is of just the design. I put the pillow on my bed next to the porcelain head doll that was my Mother's.

This design is from a pattern that I got from the Internet. The lady who made the pattern is C.M. Barr. I called her to get her permission which she gave me. I told her that I would make sure that everyone knew she was the original designer of the pattern. I just made it into a format that could be used on a sewing machine.

The 4" x 4" design is split into 4 approximately equal parts. The large hoop design for the Designer 1 is in 2 parts. It just wouldn't work for the Plus Hoop. It is the sort of a design that requires that you perfectly align it. The "lace" behind the design has diagonal lines and must be lined up properly. All I can say regarding that is to use plenty of stabilizer and baste in the hoop for each section. As you know, I use Coral Clark's Material Setters and this helps with perfect placement. You might also try to print out the sections to help align. There isn't very much room to move around with the directional arrows on the machine so it is best to get it very close with hooping.

Both zip files contain a text file and list of colors I used.
