You are welcome to download and convert these designs to any other embroidery machine format. You can also give as a gift or sell any garment that you put the designs on. The designs themselves belong to the individual and may not be transferred or sold to another party without first getting permission from the owner.

A Designing Woman

I first saw this pattern in the February Leisure Arts Magazine and I contacted the woman who made the design. Her name is Carol Schmidt of Virginia and she teaches art in middle school. She calls the pattern "A Designing Woman." She said that she wanted others to enjoy her work and gave me permission to give away this version as long as it has her name on it. You can see that it is included on the lower right part of the design. I hope you enjoy her. I think she is quite lovely.

There are a total of six parts to this design for the 4 x 4 hoop size. The overall measurements of the picture are approximately 8 x 9-1/2. She is suitable for framing when completed. I have also included a chart of all the Sulky colors used in each section. Be sure to check each of them as you stitch because they don't follow the same order in each design.

I have redone this design for the Designer 1 large hoop. I have included a text file in the Zip that has a few pointers for lining it up. It should be much easier now that it is only 2 sections. I believe it will work easier if you stitch Bottom.HUS first. It also has the color listings for each of the sections. They are very similar, but Top.HUS has a few more colors interspersed. With inspiration from fellow stitcher, Gale, here is the Designing Woman done for one hooping of the Designer 1 large hoop. This is from the pattern done by Carol Schmidt. It has less stitches and is much smaller in size and fits entirely in the large D1 hoop. There is a text file included which gives color suggestions. I hope you like it.
