About LTG
Southeast Texas Divisional FTC will be on September 13, 2003 in College Station, Tx.  This day is designed to re-educate the officers and a chance for new members to learn more about CKI.  We will offer various workshops for everyone.  Also, Kiwanians are invited so don't forget to tell your advisors.
As our service project I ask all chapters to encourage your members to bring school supplies or books to support the governors's project.  All members who bring donations will have their name entered to win prizes.  So, the more you bring, the better your odds are at winning.
We will also be making letters/cards for children, which you will later distribute to a local school in your area and begin a pen pal relationship with a student.
Our day will end with a social. We will go out to eat and enjoy the company of the friends we made throughout the day. See you all there.

International Convention
International Convention took place July 2-6 in Indianapolis, Indiana. T-O had 17 members attend. Our tour included a trip to the famous Motor Speedway.  We also enjoyed watching the downtown fireworks show on the night of Fourth of July.
I would like to congratulate our division as well for having the most representation at ICON.  Among them are Erica Copeland, Jennifer Volesky, Barbara Jones, and Andrew Bostick (all from Blinn), Eric Manthei (SHSU), Richard and Joyce Green (Blinn advisors), and of course myself from A&M. Thanks to all and hope to see more next year in St. Louis!
Dues Reminder!
Don't forget to send you dues in.  They are due on October 1st.  The amount for International dues is now $25 dollars per member. At international Convention, the house of delegates voted for a dues increase.  So the total amount to send in is $37 ($25 for international + $12 for district).  You should receive information from the international office.  If you have any questions contact District Treasurer, Brett Pirtle at bpirtle@neo.tamu.edu.
To all the Secretaries
Don't forget to have all the officers fill out the COCRFS with their new contact information for the remainder of the school year and send it to the District Secretary, Allison Reile and your LTG.  Also, remember all your reports are due promptly on the 5th of every month.  To contact Allison email her at: reilekat@yahoo.com.
D.R.E.A.M.: Governors' Project
This year District Governor Ellen Stallcup is doing a joint project with Key Club Governor. They are calling it Mission T-O  D.R.E.A.M. which stands for Dedicating Resources to Educating And Mentoring. Anyone can get involved, members, chapters, divisions, and all of the district.
To participate just volunteer to mentor at a school or youth program. Anytime you are working with children and promoting safety and education. You can also help out by holding school supplies drives or book drives.  Also, by becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister you can help counsel children.
You are also strongly encouraged to get involved in this project with any of your local Key Clubs, as it also seves as a way to make K-family relations better.
Another way to promote this project is by collecting monetary donations. Any funds will be colected at any divisional event as well as Fall Retreat and District Convention. These events are designated as school supplies drives.
