Love will be waiting… (short/song fic)

Serenestorm

Chichi stood over the sink washing the dishes from that mornings breakfast.  Her thoughts began to drift as she hummed a soft tune.  So much had happened to her over the course of her life.  She had been born a princess, lavished with expensive gifts, grown up in a castle, and even though she had never felt the love of her mother, her father had done everything in his power to give her all she had missed and more.  Then while only a child she had become engaged and with that forever linked to the man she now called husband, Son Goku.  Her Goku, she had come to love him more than she had ever thought possible, yet he continuously left her, for one reason or another, he always left her.  The pain of that brought tears to her eyes.  Even now he was training to fight the powerful monster, Cell, training her son to fight along beside him, training and perhaps preparing to once again leave her.  She slipped her hands down deeper into the warm, almost hot, soapy water, trying to lose herself in cleaning, ignore the thoughts that would only lead to more tears, more pain.  Yet her common escape route would not lend her the reprieve she wanted, as it always had in the past.  Instead, defiantly, her mind made her face what her heart wanted to ignore, Goku leaving her, as he always eventually did.  She remember not so long ago when Gohan and the others had come back from Namek, Goku had not come with them, choosing to defeat Frieza on the exploding planet.   Chichi had been so afraid for her husband that day, but she knew, somehow she knew, that Goku would defeat his foe. Neither Frieza nor no other stood a chance against her husband when he was determined and focused on a task.  Yes, she knew her Goku would be the victor of that match.  And she was proven right, Goku did defeat the universes most deplorable tyrant, Frieza, and he somehow made it off of Namek seconds before the planet exploded.  But when the Z senshi tried to wish him back to earth, he refused, stating that he was not yet ready to return home.  Chichi would never forget how everyone turned to her when he said that.  She could almost hear their thoughts as she fought to control her own, keeping her facial expression stoic.  She knew as Yamcha, Krillin, Bulma, and even Vegeta momentarily glanced in her direction what they thought of her.  How could she not?  She would have thought the exact same thing herself; she had been thinking the exact same thing herself.  Her own husband did not want to return to her, did not want to be with her.  He would rather drift in space than to come back to his harpy of a wife.  Yet she stood there emotionlessly, taking their stares, even when the old man had made his comment voicing all their opinions, she still held firm to her emotions, refusing to release the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes.  Instead she acted accordingly, giving them the reaction they would expect from her, rage.  Not tears, not pain, only rage.

Chichi sighed as she finished up the dishes and dried her hands.  That had to have been one of the worst days of her life.  She walked over to the couch plopping down onto its comfy cushions.  She wiped at the tears still falling from her eyes.

‘My, I haven’t cried this much since I was pregnant with Gohan’.  Chichi thought to herself, forcing a sad laugh.  She heard the door open and the object of her thoughts walked through the door.

“Hey, Chi, I’m home”.  Goku called out heading to the kitchen.

Chichi said nothing, not trusting her voice at the moment.

Goku frowned as he exited the kitchen, chewing on the last remains of his apple.  His wife had not even asked him where Gohan was, who had not come home with him, choosing to train more with Piccolo.

“Chichi, is something wrong?”  Goku asked sitting on the couch beside his wife.  He noticed that Chichi was yet to look up at him, gazing down at the floor instead as if hiding her face from him.

“Chi?”  He questioned scooting closer to his wife.

“N…Nothings wrong, Goku”.  She muttered so low in fact if it were not for his superior hearing he would have not heard her at all.

“Doesn’t sound as if nothing’s wrong”.  Goku said a warm smile gracing his lips.  He tilted her chin so that he could see her eyes and was surprised to find unshed tears shining into their beautiful depths.

“Since when have you been so observant”?  Chichi asked sarcastically trying to pull out of her husbands grasp.  He released her, only to grab her shoulders, forcing her to face him.

“I love you, Goku”.  She said choking back a sob.

Goku smiled, naively, still not understanding what was bothering his wife, and kissed her forehead lightly.

“I love you too, Chi.”

Chichi said nothing as she felt the softness of his lips touch her forehead and heard the sentimental words returned from his lips.

What good is a kiss

Especially if it’s not with the one you truly love

Baby don’t kiss our love away

“Where is Gohan?”  Chichi said finally taking note of her son’s absence.

Goku scratched his head, a nervous gesture, wondering how his wife would react when he answered.

“He’s with Piccolo.  He wanted to continue training”.  Goku said and readied himself for his wife’s fury.

“Good, we need to talk.”

Goku looked at his wife like she had sprouted another head.  He knew how protective Chichi was of their son.  From what he had heard from Bulma, Chichi had blown a gasket when Piccolo had taken Gohan to train after he had died.  His wife’s words slowly registered in his mind.  ‘We need to talk?’ He thought.  ‘Man, I wonder what I did this time.  I took the trash out, mowed the lawn yesterday, chopped the fire wood…’

“Goku, you say you love me, but do you really?”  Chichi asked breaking Goku from his thoughts.  Tears fell unrestricted as she awaited Goku’s reply.

Goku looked at her, astonished as the tears fell from her cobalt eyes.  He could not believe it.  Chichi never cried.  Not like this.

“Of course, I love you Chichi. You know that”.  He said looking at the woman before him confused.  He cupped her cheek gently, as if touching fine crystal, and wiped away one of her tears.

“Do I, Goku?  Do I know that you love me?” She asked again pulling away from his touch.

Goku sighed.

“I don’t understand, Chi. You should know that I love you.  We share a house, a son, and a life together.  I have never been unfaithful to you; have never even thought to be.  I have tried my best to protect you and our son from all harm.  How can I not love you?  You are my wife.”  Goku answered, hoping that he had passed whatever test his mate was putting him through now.  He strained to think of what he could have done to make her so sad.  ‘Let’s see, it’s not our anniversary, not her birthday, not my birthday, not Valentine’s Day…’

“Yes, I am your wife.  But I married you when you didn’t even know what a wife was.  I love you, Goku, but again I ask do you love me?”  Pain was etched in her words, pain and heartache.

‘Dende, what have I done to her’.  Goku wondered, his heart clinching at the thought of his wife, his mate in pain.  Her eyes pleaded with him for the answer, an answer he had repeatedly given her.

“Yes, Chi, I love you.  I love you very much”.  Goku repeated not caring about the desperateness that had entered his voice.  He didn’t know what was wrong with his wife, did not know why she suddenly needed such reassurance of his love for her, but he did know that it was imperative that he make her believe him. Even he could sense the importance of the situation.

“Well, if you do love me, Son Goku, tell me why, why do you always choose to leave me?  I cannot understand that, Goku.  I would never leave you, could never leave you, even if I wanted to, I am tied to you.  So why is it so easy for you to leave me”.

What good is a house if it’s not a home

Don’t want spend the nights along

Baby let’s not make that mistake

Her lip quivered slightly as she finally asked him what she had wanted to ask him for a long time.  Something she had hesitated to ask him fearing his answer.  Chichi couldn’t take it anymore though.  She could not go on any more wondering if the love she had for her husband was unrequited.  She stared up into his black orbs trying to read their dark depths, but his eyes gave away none of his emotions, despite her searching, leaving her to await his answer.

Some people search but they search too far

When love is so close to their hearts

I won’t be searching cause love is right here

And it’s clear

It’s right in your arms

“Chichi, I never knew you felt this way.  I never meant to leave you, I thought you understood that.  I would only leave to protect you, to protect our son.  I couldn’t stand it if something ever happened to you.  Every time I left, it was because I had to.  To keep you safe I will do anything”.  Goku said honestly.  Chichi absorbed his words, weighing them carefully.  She knew they had to be true for she knew Goku would not lie.  But was he so naïve that he would think that she would just automatically understand whenever he left her?

She glanced back into her husband’s eyes, which looked uncertainly down into her own.  Yes he was.  Yet she was still reluctant to believe him, afraid that if she allowed him fully back into her heart again, trusted him again, he would indeed leave her yet again, perhaps not by his own accord, but nevertheless she knew this time she may not survive the heartache that will come with his departure.

Don’t you go breaking my heart

Don’t run away from these arms

There’s something I need you to know

Love will be waiting at home

“How could I just understand, Goku?  Well, the first time, when you fought Raditzu, I did.  Even though it hurt like hell, I understood that you died fighting that beast that was in fact your brother so he could not take our boy.  And when you left for Namek, without even saying good bye, I eventually understood, you had gone to help our son, make sure he made it back safely.  But I did not understand when you chose to stay on a dieing planet to fight Frieza, nor did I understand when given the chance to come back home quicker with the Dragon Balls you refused.  I didn’t understand why you left me those times, Son Goku, but it seems as though your friends did.  They all knew that it was some knew adventure for you, a new challenge to face, more training to prefect your already sharp skills, and finally a chance to get away from your demanding, harpy, wife, that obviously treats her husband so poorly that he chose to spend a year away from her”.  Chichi said her voice breaking over the last sentence.

“Do you know how lonely I was without you, Goku?”

What good is a heart if it’s all along

Without someone special there to hold

A heart was not meant to waste away

“Do you know how many nights I cried myself to sleep because you weren’t beside me?  Because you didn’t care enough to be beside me.  Do you know how it feels to love someone so much but to feel as though that love is not returned?”

What good is love if it’s not sincere

Without someone who’s always there

Not someone who will just drift away

Goku looked into his wife’s eyes shocked at what she was telling him.  She really did feel as though he didn’t love her and Goku knew that that was as far from the truth as heaven from hell.  He felt tears fall from his own eyes as to what he had unknowingly, foolishly put his wife through, the one person he loved more than anything, the one person he would gladly die for, give up his immortal soul for, to think that he did not love her, was almost too much for the Saiyajin warrior to bear.

For the first time in Son Goku’s life, he did not know what to do.  He did not know what to say to his wife, his bonded mate, as he looked down into her pain filled eyes, reflecting her inner turmoil.  She must have been holding all of that grief, pain, anger, sadness, in for a long time.  He could not believe that he had put her through that, while trying to save her pain, he had inadvertently been the cause of all her pain.

He quickly pulled Chichi into his arms, so suddenly that he had momentarily caught the once warrior princess off guard.

“Oh Dende, Chi, I am so sorry.  I never knew, never realized.  Please forgive me.  I love you, so much.  Please believe me, tell me how to make you stop hurting.  I’ll do anything to take that pain from your eyes”.  He muttered into her inky black hair.

Some people search their whole life long

Trying to find someone true

Don’t you go searching cause love is right here

Don’t you fear, it’s waiting for you

Chichi felt her tears fall onto his gi as she felt his heart thumping against her cheek.  It had to be the sweetest sound to her, the best music, just the rhythm of his heart’s beat.  Goku leaned down planting a soft kiss on Chichi’s head, and again took her chin into his powerful hands.  Pulling her up to meet his gaze.  He then kissed her cheeks licking away her salty tears and his, which had mixed with her own.

“I do love you, Chi. Let me prove it to you.  Let me make it all up to you.”  He whispered softly into her ear.

Goku gently lifted his wife from the couch and carried her to their bedroom. He lowered them both onto the bed resting comfortably on top of her, propping himself on one arm as not to burden her with his weight.

“Goku.”  Chichi whispered pulling his head down to meet hers.  She kissed him lightly on the lips.  Goku immediately intensified that kiss trying to pour all his love into that one kiss.  Chichi moaned into his mouth as her husband did wickedly sensual things with his hands. She felt him slowly undress her and soon she was left with nothing on under him.  Chichi shivered as Goku ran his hands along the contours of her body.  After all the years of marriage, his hands, just his touch, aroused her like the strongest aphrodisiac.  Chichi bit back a cry when his hot tongue touched her already sensitive nipples nipping them ever so softly with his teeth.

“Please, Goku”.  She begged, not really knowing what she was begging for.  Was it to quench the fire he had started with in her, or was it for something more, for something deeper. Chichi was not sure, but she begged him all the same.

She pulled roughly at his clothes, the binds separating her from his delicious body, until he was naked just as she.

Goku pushed his way in between her legs, readying himself to complete them as one.  He moaned as he felt her womanhood up against his hardened member.

“Promise me”.  She breathed. “Promise you won’t leave me again”.

“Please, Goku, don’t leave me again”.

Goku said nothing. No words were needed.  He felt every aspect of him that was Saiyajin push forward to grant his wife’s wish.  He knew what he had to do.  Goku knew that he never wanted to leave his mate again, never wanted her to feel the pain that she had expressed to him earlier.  He would protect her from that pain the only way he knew how.

Goku pushed himself into Chichi’s warmth almost roughly, forcing himself to control his movements on his wife’s fragile body.

Chichi screamed out her pleasure as her and Goku connected.  She wrapped her legs around his slim waist drawing him even deeper into her embrace.  They stayed like that without movement both adjusting, taking in the pleasure that their union had given them.

Slowly Goku sat a pace, thrusting in, long and deep.  Chichi clung onto his shoulders her nails drawing blood as she began to match his rhythm.

Goku moaned aloud, the pleasure his wife was giving him making him cry out in ecstasy.

“Chichi”.  He whispered her name as if it was a mantra, and her cries mingled with his own.  Goku took Chichi’s right hand into his pulling it away from his shoulder and onto the bed.  He dug his thumb nail into her palm drawing blood and bit down on her neck at the same time marking her there as he did years before.

Chichi cried out from the pain mixed with the pleasure of their love making and for some reason unbeknownst to her, she did the same to him, drawing blood from his palm with her delicate fingernails and biting his neck where she had marked him long before Gohan was born.

Estamos ligados agora e siempre, Chichi”. Goku muttered in his native tongue feeling his life force and that of his wife’s bind forever.

“Ocorpo, mente, e alma”.  He finished completing the ritual, not preformed since Vegetasei.

He brought them both to a powerful climax and felt his ki swell around him from his release.

Goku rolled off of his now life mate, knowing she could not support his weight.

[Do you believe me now, Chichi]?  Goku asked her telepathically.

He pulled her into his embrace, still wanting her as close to him as possible.

Chichi looked up at him questionably, as she felt his voice brush against her mind.

“Goku, how…”  She began.  Goku hushed her, pulling her into a deep kiss.

“I don’t know, Chi. But I do know that I will never leave you again.  We are linked forever mind, body, and spirit”.

I’ll give you my heart

Forever be true

I’ll be there waiting for you

Ok, what do you think?  I know it was a little sappy but I couldn’t help myself.  Sorry if Goku and Chichi seemed a bit out of character.  And if you didn’t guess, the song was meant to convey both Chichi’s and Goku’s view point anyway this song inspired the fic so I had to use it.  Please review.  And read Turn the Page!! (Cheap promo.  I knowJ)

BTW: Estamos ligados agora e siempre. Ocorpo, mente e alma means: We are linked, now and forever.  Body, mind, and spirit.  The phrase is Portuguese mixed with Spanish.
