    Attach Sketch to View

How do I sketch so it follows a view ?

    - Justin Lockhart, < justinlockhart@lockharttech.com >

In order for a sketch to follow a view, it must be attached to the view.

To do this, click in the view and make sure it is highlighted.

Now Right-click on the sketch and select Draw in View.

Draw as desired and click Return on the Ribbon bar when done.

This will get the sketch attached to the view.

It will now move with the view.

    Create Templates

How do I make my own templates ?

    - Bapusaheb Raut (bapu), Shivajinagar, Aurangabad.

Templates are nothing more than files saved in the Template sub-folder of Solid Edge.
You can save any asm, dft, par, psm, or pwd file in the Template folder or any sub-folder of the Template folder and it will be valid for use as a template when appropriate.

The Default location of Template folder is :

    X:\Program Files\Solid Edge\Program\Template

    AutoCAD into Sketcher

How can I import AutoCAD data for use as a sketch ?

    - Jasmine M. Rogers, < jrogers_vnn@c2i.com >

This one is a very non-standard way.
Open the AutoCAD drawing in Solid Edge Draft.

The entire drawing will appear in Solid Edge as one view.

Select the view by clicking it.

Right-click in the view and select Draw in View.

Once into the view, select the desired entities and Edit > Copy.

In the sketcher, click Edit > Paste.

Finally, View > Fit if required.
