MARLA BELT MAKE-UP FOR HEATHERETTE - FALL 2005

Theme for the show was living dolls. For makeup, that theme was explored through vivid pastels in coral,pink, and sky blue on cheeks,lips and eyes. The skin was perfected with foundation and concealer, if needed, a shade or two lighter than skintone, then  lightly powdered for that smooth pale baby doll complexion. Cheeks were rouged in dusty coral paintstick directly below the outer eye corner in a soft round shape. Eyes were painted with pure white paintstick and contoured with sky blue paintstick, then lightly smudged and blended with a soft eye brush to give a dusty faded blue hue to the lids. Lips were then painted a vivid pink with cool pink paintsick only in the center of the mouth, accentuating the cupid's bow of the lip. The corners of the lips were concealed with foundation to further emphasize the doll sized mouth. As a wonderful crowning touch to the dolly aesthetic, Kabuki, key artist for the show, painted 6 soft black bottom lashes on the models with liquid liner, then applied top eyelashes as well. As you can see from the photos, the girls were working the look, very cutesy baby doll with a japanime edge. MARLA BELT MENU
