Join
the fight!
This campaign does NOT belong to any one
person - or even to any one organisation. It belongs to ALL of us.
ALL of us together CAN make a difference.
Here's what you can do:-
- Email
YOUR local State Representative HERE
- Email
your friends/relatives with information about this campaign - and ask them to
pass it on in turn. This is a very powerful action. The
mathematics of such grass-roots/personal networking are incredible.
It's up to you (of course), but you could copy and pass on something very
simple, like this:-
Children need seatbelts even on
school buses. Find out more about the Queensland campaign to make our
children safe at:-
www.oocities.org/seatbelts2004
- Email
us HERE. Send us your comments, ideas and even pictures - we'll publish them on this
website (if that's OK with you). Information about this campaign
(including the website address), has been emailed to every school in
Queensland - with a request to include the information in their next school
newsletter. We are also in the process of writing to ALL
local
newspapers, with a "Letter to the Editor" (website address
included), and a request for a small ad in their "Community
Notices" section. This website will CONTINUE
to be advertised throughout Queensland in this way. This means you can
share your concerns/ideas/inspiration with other parents (throughout
Queensland), by publishing them on this site. You'll also join our email
list of concerned parents be sent information updates as they arrive
- Write
a letter to your local press (including
this website address in your letter would be fine). The email address
of your local newspaper may be listed HERE
- Do
an interview on your local radio.
- Put
an ad/notice on
local notice boards (the one in your local Woolies for instance). Here's a suggestion:-
"Seatbelts save lives even on school buses.
Find out more about the campaign to protect kids at www.oocities.org/seatbelts2004
or phone Kim 5543 1796 (mobile o41 270 8451)" (you could
include you own phone number, depending on your preference).
- Contact
your local school and go to your next
P & C meeting. You can find your local school contact details HERE
- Create
(and advertise locally), your own
website. Don't panic! You can contact this campaign for info how
this can be done (for free), or alternatively, you can send in the
pictures/info/letters you'd like seen - and we can create an individual page for you (linked
to our front page).
- Send us any further ideas and/or inspiration
you have.
