lowest seeds for the various knockout rounds of the Champions League and UEFA Cup since
the inception of the new formats in 1999/2000. These stats should help determine the
likelihood of Scottish teams being seeded in each round next season. As a guide, here are the coefficients and provisional rankings for all Scottish clubs in Europe for next season. Any points that Celtic gain in the UEFA Cup Final will have an effect on each club's coefficient. |

Implications of above Statistics For Scottish Clubs in Season 2003/4

| 2nd Qualifying Round - Celtic will be seeded in this round. |
| 3rd Qualifying Round - Celtic & Rangers will both definitely be seeded in this round. |
| 1st League phase - Celtic and Rangers will definitely be in the 3rd pot of seeds for the League phase. Celtic have an outside chance of actually being in the 2nd pot of seeds. to get in the second pot they will need 2 of Celta Vigo, Deportivo La Coruna, Borussia Dortmund, Galatasary, Chelsea and Lazio to be knocked out of the 3rd qualifying round |

| Qualifying Round - Dundee are seeded in this round. |
| 1st Round - One of the main reasons why no-one outwith the Old Firm has got by the first round of the UEFA cup for 6 years is that the Scottish teams have always been unseeded in this round. Celtic and Rangers will both be seeded. Hearts are now borderline as to whether they will be seeded for this round. If Austria Vienna, MTK Budapest and CSKA Moscow do not qualify for the Chgampions League group phase then Hearts will definitely be seeded. Dundee will not be seeded. |

| 3rd Round - Celtic and probably Rangers will be seeded in this round |
| 4th Round - Good chance of Celtic being seeded in this round. Unlikely that Rangers will be seeded in this round. Though in season 02/03 Slavia Prague (47.312) were seeded due to the high number of high ranked clubs knocked out in 3rd round. |
