What the four gospels say

John 20:30 - "These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."


WHO IS JESUS?

  • Jesus was present at the creation of the earth. (1)
  • Jesus is the Messiah promised by God after humankind was separated from God. (2)
  • Jesus was crucified because the Jews could not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. (3)
  • Jesus "died" and resurrected on the third day. (4)
  • The only way to return to God after our death is to believe that Jesus is the Messiah. (5)

  • John 1:1 & 2, 14 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God ..... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us .... as the only Son from the Father.

    John 8:57 - The Jews said to Jesus, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abrahim?" Jesus replied, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am."            Back


  • John 4:25 & 26 - The Samaritan woman said, "I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ); when he comes, he will show us all things. Jesus replied, "I who speak to you am he."

    Jesus said to Martha, "I am the resurrection and the life; ..... Do you believe this?" Martha replied, "Yes Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world."

    John 17:1 - 3 - Jesus lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, glorify your Son so that the world knows you as the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."            Back


  • John 5:18 - The Jews sought to kill him, because he called God his Father, making himself equal to God.

    John 19:7 - The Jews told Pilate, "We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he has made himself the Son of God. "           Back


  • John 2:19 - Jesus told them, "Destroy this temple (me) and in three days I will raise it up."

    John 20 & 21 - On the third day of his "death", Mary Magdalene went to the tomb of Jeus and found it empty. Peter and the disciples then search the tomb and could only find the linen cloth. Jesus then appeared to Mary at the tomb. In the evening Jesus appeared to his disciples who have locked themselves in a room for fear of the Jews. On the eighth day he again appeared to his disciples and allowed Thomas to touch his wounds. Then he appeared to the disciples who had gone back to fishing and asked them to take care of the church on earth."            Back


  • John 3:14 - "Whosoever believed in me have eternal life."

    John 3:16 - For God so love the world that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish but have eternal life."

    John 3:18 - "He who believes in me is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already."

    John 3:36 - "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him."

    John 6:40 - "It is the will of my Father, that every one who believes in the Son should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

    John 8:24 - "You will die in your sins, unless you believe that I am he (the Messiah).            Back
