Self Injury
Put on your favourite feel good song and dance around your room like an eejit to it.
Watch re-runs of your favourite TV programme or film for ages.
Ring a helpline like the samaritans to talk to someone about your urges.
Organise your work, school work, Cd collection, anything that could be organised.
Scribble over your arm with a red felt tip pen.  It isnt blood but it may satisfy you enough.
Put an elastic band around your wrist to play with.
Make yourself mega comfy, lie on your bed surrounded by all things cuddly.
Clean your room, clean the whole house!  Get rid of some energy!
Allow yourself to cry those tears that you may be stopping yourself from crying.
Get out of your present situation - go for a walk, run, to a friends house etc.
Begin designing a website on the net to keep yourself busy.
Write down some thoughts and feeling, maybe in the form of poetry.
Try to wait 15 minutes and see how you feel then.  Then try and wait another 15 minutes.
Take a bath or a shower.
Focus on your breathing.  Deep breaths in and breathe out slowly - calm yourself.
Read something funny - jokes, comic - this releases endorphins - feel good hormones.
Scream from the top of your lungs to get rid of frustration.
If you have a pet go and play with it or stroke it - it can be comforting and soothing.
Go shopping and buy yourself a wee treat.
Run some errands for your parents or neighbours.
Make a little dance routine for yourself.
Orientate yourself - I am in my bedroom, its eg. Jan 2004, I am alive, I am ok.
Make a list of your favourite things - smells, foods, music, movies, flowers, shops.
Make as many weird noises or odd faces as you can in 10 seconds - try again and again.
Hopskotch! Throw an item and hopskotch over to it - repeat as you desire.
Make a list of dreams - things you want to do, places to see, things to buy etc.
Make something to eat
Beat up a pillow or two - they could become your worst enemies for a few hours :)
Masturbate - it can get rid of stress
If there are kids in your street go and watch them play - it can be quite relaxing
Go to the park and swing
Draw all over yourself, you could use a red marker or just a normal pen
Count how many times you can jump in a minute
Read this list again and again and again.
