P.O. Box 84, Palmerston North, New Zealand, 5331, or email us.

Palmerston North was New Zealand's first Scandinavian settlement. It was the experiment that was planned to trigger further settlement by Scandinavian migrants to less hospitable parts of the country, such as Southern Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa - the so-called Seventy-Mile-Bush and Forty-Mile-Bush. Due to its location, Palmerston North was fated to become a city. Some of the other settlements that were effectively founded by Scandinavian migrants are now only shadows of their former selves, while Norsewood and Dannevirke remain linked to their unique heritage through their names.

Our Club hopes that your visit will be informative and that those of you undertaking research will find something of interest to you.
