Williams, James Henderson, Major. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, born 1813, died 1892 of Newberry District, previously commanded the 3rd SC Infantry, 5th SC State Troops, and 9th SC Reserves

Organized with 6 companies in mid-1864. They were in the forces of General Joseph E. Johnston who surrendered at Durham Station, Orange County, NC on 26 April 1865.
