Welcome to Saltbush
Stud. Situated on 70 acres of cultured bushland, Saltbush lies in
the burning heart of Australia, 10 km (6.2 miles) South of Alice
Springs. This small town offers a relaxing place for horses and
owners a like, where it is warm (Mid 20-30 C) all year round and
sunny for most of it too. Although conditions are dry, the rare
rainfall provides lush grasses, and our two bush paddocks are
usually full of wild grass and shrubs that are excellent for
horse health.
Saltbush Stud owns, boards and trains a number of different breeds and disciplines, at a number of levels. However, most horses owned by Saltbush are thoroughbreds, which compete in flat racing, steeple chasing, or eventing. We also offer limited boarding to the public
Here at SBS, we have 6 stables, 3 paddocks (2 bush, and the home paddock), 1 dressage arena, a showjumping arena, and a multi-purpose arena.
All enquiries should be made to the main office, located next to the main barn. There is a minor office in each of the other barns, but these are rarely occupied due to lessons, training, meetings, etc.
