Welcome to the online home of the Lake Superior chapter of Save Our Unique Lands! SOUL is a grassroots movement of farmers, land owners, students, environmentalists and other activists committed to promote efficient and orderly management of electrical power, based on the needs of the Northland, while protecting the natural, social and economic environments and citizens of the region.
Our main project currently is organizing to stop the proposed Arrowhead-Weston bulk transmission line. The Arrowhead-Weston line is a massive for-profit line that poses numerous health, safety, land rights, environmental, economic and other threats.
SOUL is a regional network, and our Lake Superior chapter is the section that specifically covers Douglas County, Wisconsin. If you would like to stay in the loop about our activities, and news relating to the struggle against the Arrowhead-Weston line, we invite you to check this site often, sign up for our email list, attend our meetings, and join our group! Together we can make northern Wisconsin a better place to live!
The Lake Superior chapter of Save Our Unique Lands meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7pm at the Town Hall in Bennett, WI (just off of U.S. Hwy. 53).
Contact us if you need a ride to the meetings and we'll try to hook you up with someone else who is going. If you are unable to attend meetings, but would like to work with us we encourage you to contact us by sending an email to adamthejanitor@yahoo.com.
