PROFILE
Jeremy Joseph who promotes G-A-Y,the biggest gay club in the country offered me a prime time DJ position on Saturday. "BAMBINA" had just closed at this time, so I accepted, with trepidation. Jeremy was always a hard taskmaster and our personalities clashed a bit. I worked there for about a year, but left on not very good terms. Things are ok now though, I admire Jeremy for sticking to his ideals.  It was round about this time that the "FRIDGE" in Brixton asked me to host a weekly Saturday nighter called "QRS". It lasted a few months but i hated the hard music and eventually left when i was offered the new and challenging job of hosting and DJing at the UKs first, luxury, men-only lap dancing club called "IN THE LAP OF THE GODS". It was a scream. I loved it. It got my face on all sorts of TV slots and created a big buzz.
Currently I work four or five nights a week. Mondays is great fun at "HEAVEN" again, for a packed out night called "POPCORN", the crowd are young and trendy, good fun and i love it.
Tuesdays I am at "DON'T CALL ME BABE" at "GHETTO", formerly known at The Tube. All the good points of the old "Babe" night remain but there is a much more diversified music policy, including more retro and club than before.
Saturdays you'll find me at "PARADISE FACTORY" in Manchester, then on Sundays I co-promote, host and DJ at a brilliant night called "SOUND ON SUNDAY" at "SOUND" in Wardour Street, every Sunday. Again its a very pop, mixed crowd, always busy and great fun. I like it because i have a say in how it's run. It's very much my baby. Originally it was set up and financed by Gary Henshaw of the KU BAR and LIMELIGHT fame. Gary pulled however and I was offered a stake. Of course I took it and the clubs fortunes have really improved of late.
Apart from the DJing and hosting I wrote a weekly column for over a year in DNA magazine. I also have written regularly for BOYZ magazine, covering video shoots I have appeared in, trips to foreign countries to work and interviewing celebrity friends I have made.
It has always surprised me that the press have been so interested in my career. I have had articles in The Times, The Evening Standard, The Mail, The Sunday Mirror (with my mom!), Time Out, Bella, Elle, Vogue, Mix Mag, QX, Thud, Scene Update, Ministry, Tank, Hot Tickets, Whats On and many more.
On the TV side of things I have appeared in 2 episodes of "GIMME GIMME GIMME", had a Channel 4 documentary made about my work and life, appeared on the quiz shows "100% and "LIE DETECTOR", made cameo appearances in 3 CULTURE CLUB and BOY GEORGE videos, appeared on the dating show "GODS GIFT", done articles for a Granada show about shopping and fashion called "SHOP WATCH", appeared in a VH1 documentary called "The Man Behind The Music" again with Boy George, had slots on LONDON TONIGHT and even appeared on "GOOD MORNING" with Richard and Judy!!!
I have been lucky enough to do a bit of recording work as well, having released two singles, the first was made with top DJ Craig Jenson and Mr C from the SHAMEN called "GLAMOUR IS A STATE OF MIND" the second was a song called "ROCKET TO YOUR HEART which did well in Europe. It was done with top remixer SEROTINA and got surprisingly good reviews!
More recently I have worked with producers Trevor Steele and John Holiday who have written hits for many artists and are well known in the industry. You will have to wait and see what we do with that! There are also plans for "MASSIVE EGO", a well known London dance band and myself to rework the old DEAD OR ALIVE hit "MY HEART GOES BANG".
My latest venture is a remix album for Heaven called "Legend by Dusty O" at Popcorn, which is available from May 2002 at Heaven and Trax.
Over the years I have travelled extensively, DJing regularly in SOUTH AFRICA (see press articles), also in Lebanon and Israel, where I performed my songs to 5000 people at their 50th Independance party. Also in Italy, where I have toured extensively over the years, Germany, Spain, Japan and Singapore
