One With the Jell-O

I have been to see the Popsicles
I have been to see the jell-O
I now know what it is
That makes the jell-o jiggle
I understand the plight
Of the crisp lettuce leaf
The icing of the cream
Please! …Oh please!!
Turn down the air conditioning!!

For Peace

We send our sons off
To fight for our freedom
To stand tall and proud
Our sons they battle
Why do they battle??
They must
They battle for peace
As the blood spills
Upon the ground
Our souls…our lives…
Stained with blood
Just as the sons
Of battles before
They will bring peace
Once more
Why do they battle??
They must
For us… For peace

My thoughts soar

My thoughts soar on wings
Like leaves drifting on a soft breeze

The warm sun upon the pedals
Of a wild flower blooming upon the forest floor

My thoughts soar on wings
Set free to drift from soul to soul

To awaken
To touch
To sooth

My thoughts soar on wings
Soft warm wings of an angel

Taking flight with the glory of a dove
My thoughts soar

And I…I soar with them

Eyes wide open

So many minds
So many souls
With eyes wide open
Windows to the soul

Hearts together
Healing holes
Touching others
With lives and souls

Empty spaces
Empty minds
With eyes wide open
Waiting to be filled
With brilliant meaning

Eyes wide open
Thoughts you cannot hold

Thinking People

People rushing through walls and halls
Rushing through doors and rooms
Noisy, smiling, chatting, mingling

People rushing, confusion, spinning
Smiling, learning, combining

Yearning to learn, to share
Noisy, smiling, listening
People writing poetry

Thinking people

The simple fly

The door flew open
And in it flew
A simple little fly
With a message for you

Like the mind
Suddenly open
Flying in the message
You never knew

What little gift
Did that fly
That simple little fly
Give to you

Rose

Her eyes were dim
And her scars
Showed upon her face
She had a spark
Bright in her eyes
Of hope and strength

And though she spoke words
Of pain she had been through
She shined upon each page

Her tears trickled
Slowly down her face
She spoke her words
And bloomed upon that stage

Though she was blind
And could not see
She is a rose to me

I met a rose today

My Precious Gift

You are my love
The music to my song
The brightness in my day
The wings of my dove

You are my love
The rose above my thorns
The sunrise in my morning
The heart in my soul

It is you my love
Worth far more then gold
You are my most precious gift

Attack of the Acorn King

He comes each year to spread his fear
He brings dark skies and howling cries
It's the attack of the acorn king

When all is dark and quiet
The chilling winds abound
With angry leaves and shuttered trees
He throws his weapons down

They dance on the rooftops
They crash to the ground
They fill you with fear
From their frightful sounds
It's the attack of the acorn king

They'll knock you down
They'll thump your crown

Even the skies in dread cry with their tears
"Cover your heads and flee with your fears
It's the attack of the acorn king"

With a flutter of leaves and a shake of a branch
The clunking and clanging
The bashing and banging
Puts you in a trans

He brings such fright with his terrible might
With a boom of his temper the skies ignite

It's the attack of the acorn king

No more blood shed

I had a dream
A vision in my sleep
These events unfolded as I slept

I climbed atop a pyramid
Ruins of a monument

I placed my hands upon its' markings

The pyramid began to shake
As though there was a quake
My hands they could not move

There came a sudden light
A voice with silent words
So much pain shook me to tears
I was the only one who heard
"No more blood shed"

Before me a vision
I saw the many huts
And such a bloody scene
Of where a great battle had been
Down below me as I knelt upon the great temple

Men women and children
In the battle died a bloody scene below the temple

And there we found the great tomb of innocence

I do not want this dream
I do not know what it should mean
