Susan Ann Protter Literary Agent

Susan Ann Protter

Susan Ann Protter, a native New Yorker, has worked in the publishing industry for three decades.
After a brief stint as a French teacher, she began her career at Harper & Row (now HarperCollins) as associate director of subsidiary rights.
In 1970 she became a consultant to Addison-Wesley in Massachusettes.
In the course of travelling back and forth to Boston, she met several authors who asked her to represent them.
And so her literary agency was born.

She is a member of the Association of Authors Representatives where she serves on the program committee.
She is also an agent member of the Author’s Guild.
Her agency deals with all publishers and maintains an office in Manhattan.

Presently, she is looking for a limited number of new clients:
Literary Fiction and Non-Fiction by published authors.
Prescriptive Non-Fiction by known experts in their field with a platform.

If you wish to submit a query letter, please do so by snail mail.
Be certain to include an SASE or IRC.
