My name is Sappho and I'm chinese-american. I was born and raised in Queens, NY and have been living in Tampa, FL for 2 1/2 years. I moved down here to attend Bible School. That is where I met my husband. He's from the Bahamas. We got married Dec. 2000. We have 2 schnauzers. One is a miniature and the other is a toy (only 5 lbs.). Take a look at their photos. What are my likes:
I like surfing the web, working on my webpage (I'll constantly be adding things), origami ( I used to know how to make so many things), puzzles and riddles-check out my funstuff page- playing online games, listening to Adventures in Odyssey-go to WhitsEnd.org if you've never listened before
Thomas Kinkade-his paintings are amazing- my hubby bought me a framed print last Christmas-I bought 2 1000 piece puzzles and put them together in no time-just have to frame them now
Precious Moments-the figurines are just amazing-I have a small collection thanks to my friends that gave them as gifts :)

If you couldn't already tell, I'm a christian, but I wasn't always one. I believed in God and that was all. My life wasn't going anywhere. I was depressed. I hated life and my family. I had extremely low self-esteem. I contemplated suicide at one point during my senior of high school. My stepfather and I were having constant fights and I was miserable at home. I somehow hung in there.
I was glad when I went away to college. I dreaded the weekends I had to go home. I'd cry. THEN, during my second semester of freshman year, a friend told me what Jesus had done for him and how He turned things around for him and his family. I wondered if He could do the same for me. Boy, did He ever! I gave my life to Jesus and He turned things around for the better, much better! Now, I have peace and joy. I'm no longer depressed but am happy with my life. I totally enjoy life now. I can enjoy being with my family now. They still aren't Christians, yet, but things with them aren't like they used to be, Praise God!
God takes care of me and constantly blesses me.
When I first moved down here, I didn't have a car so I asked God for one. About 2 weeks later, someone came to me and gave me her car! I had rented a room with a married couple and when I got my own apartment, I prayed for furniture. About a month and a half later someone bought me a sofa, loveseat and dining table. Friends gave me an entertainment center and a bed. Talk about being blessed! :) God was the one that brought me together with my husband. That's another story!
Now how can you get the joy and peace and the gift of eternal life that I now have? The Bible says in Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The Bible also says in Romans 10:13, "For whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." YOU are a whosoever. You don't have to do anything to get this gift. You can't get this by working for it. All you have to do is open your heart and accept it. If you want the gift of eternal life that God offers you, pray this: Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I repent (turn my back on) of my sins. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. Thank you that you rose for me and that you are coming back again for me. Take out this stony heart and put in a heart of flesh. Wash me, change me, use me, never let me be the same again. In Jesus's name, Amen. If you prayed this prayer from your heart, then as a minister of the gospel I can tell you that your sins are forgiven. God sees you as white as snow! What you need to do now is to get your hands on a Bible and read it everyday just like you eat everyday.
