Stockport viaduct. The largest brick built structure in western Europe

The Club has been in existence since 1976, and provides for the interests of Railway Modellers in Stockport and surrounding areas. The Club is open to all, irrespective of ability and scale modelled.

Currently the club is building 2 layouts. 1st St Aidan's Bay a large - 32 feet x 8 feet, continuous run "OO" layout based on the east coast of North Yorkshire, near to Whitby. The layout is set in the 1950's, and will feature a wide variety of operation including excursion specials, fish trains, and even early (first generation) D.M.U.s. 2nd the yet to be named N gauge layout. Work is progressing week by week.

The Club hosts an annual Exhibition, at Stockport Grammar School, more details will be posted on the exhibition page as they become available.

The club also holds an annual Open Day. This is a great opportunity to see what we do and have done.

The Club meets every Tuesday evening in the grounds of Stockport Grammar School, on Woods Moor Lane just off the A6 Stockport. The meetings start as early as 2pm and end about 10pm. Visitors are always welcome. Click here for a map to the club room. There is a security gate at the entrance, on arrival at the gate there is a bell push on the rear of the gate post to the left. Alternatively visitors can contact a club member for access to the building prior to coming. Please email us using the link below to the secretary.

From time to time other social events are organised; these have included a Gliding Evening, a Day Long Canal Barge Trip and D.M.U. driving on the Llangollen Railway.

So, why not pop along and see us on a club night and enjoy a chat and a free cup of tea and a biscuit! If you like what you see, why not join us.
