"Once Upon a Time"
A Poem by Zeniva

Once upon a time
Seems so long ago
A tale of a fairy land
Where no hatred shows

Butterflies flit by
On shiny, glistening wings
Piles of sparkling treasure
All manner of rings and things

The woods stretch for endless miles
Full of magical, mysterious beasts
Heroes attending banquets
Heroines attending feasts

Then I walk past the land
Of happily ever after
Into the real world
And on my lips dies the laughter

All manner of weapons meant to kill
Freely the blood flows
Once upon a time
Seems so long ago
