"Mariel the Mouse"
A Poem by Panzerslash

Mariel the Mouse set off one day
Across the waves of blue.
Now sit and listen, not a sound,
I'll tell her tale to you.

With Dandin seated by her side,
And Bowly Pintips too,
They sailed for half a season
Across those waves of blue.

They came across an island.
It's name was Kerratou.
'Twas ruled by Vincent Terrormouth,
A rat with eyes of blue.

Now he was very evil,
And filled the land with dread.
With her weapon in her paw,
She went to get his head.

She came across a dwelling.
Inside were many beasts.
All sitting down to dinner.
It was a splendid feast.

The badger that was guardian
Of this righteous place
Decided to join Mariel.
Her name was Andilace.

So Mariel and Dandin,
And Bowly Pintips too
Now had quite an army.
Its size was three-oh-two.

They marched across a desert,
A forest, and a swamp.
They gathered many animals,
For Vincent had to stop.

After thirteen days of marching,
They came upon a fort.
Here lived Vincent Terrormouth,
The fort's name was Woecourt.

Inside the walls of Woecourt
Were many fearsome beasts.
All of them, there were a lot,
They all came from the East.

In Mariel's new army,
There were five hundred and seven.
Inside the walls of Woecourt
There were eight hundred, eleven.

Although they were outnumbered,
Mariel knew that they would win.
For they were fighting for their homes.
They were fighting from within.

Vincent thought he'd win the battle.
He had many, all alike.
All his rats were mighty fighters.
But then Mariel did strike.

The vermin were not ready.
They were taking cheese and wine,
When the animals started roaring.
And were marching in a line.

They fought the vermin day and night
For all of seven days.
Never ceasing in their onslaught,
And then seen through the haze.

Mariel and Dandin,
And Bowly Pintips too
Were seen fighting in the corner
'Gainst a rat with eyes of blue.

Mariel took her mighty 'Whacker
And whacked that fearsome foe.
Then Dandin went and slayed him.
He sliced him head to toe.

The creatures were victorious.
They moved into Woecourt.
But they renamed it Carrot Top.
It became a Palace-Fort.

They elected Mariel and Dandin,
And Bowly Pintips too,
To be rulers of the fortress
And to start them from anew.

But Mariel just could not stay.
Her heart was on the roam.
And her and Dandin, Pintips too,
Sailed away upon the foam.

You have heard the tale of Mariel.
She is with us day by day.
For such a wondrous legend
Simply cannot sail away.

She will live in us forever.
Her spirit still takes flight.
There are many untold tales of hers,
But they are for another night.
