The '97 show featured classic '60 rock music from Jefferson Airplane, Iron Butterfly, and Procol Harum. (Sid and Tim liked this show a lot because they're really old!)
The first shots are from "White Rabbit," the drill ended with the rotating and expanding block shown in the fourth picture; which is the beginning of drum solo.
The band arrangements are all by Tom Wallace through Arrangers' Publishing, but we couldn't do a 60's show without "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" as the drum solo, so we asked our buddy Jan Verboom at Goddard H.S. to arrange it for us. Jan gave us a terrific chart that was a real crowd pleaser. |

The final shots are from the closer, where we used parts of "Whiter Shade of Pale" and "Tuesday Afternoon." The second shot below we referred to as the 'mega-block,' an attempt to cover the entire field with an 8 step block (Chris Showalter's grandiose idea); suprisingly enough it actually worked. |

The astro-turf field is Kansas State University, where it rained buckets on us. Thanks to Jan Rich for the photos. The others were taken at Neewollah in Independence, KS; but I can't remember who gave them to me to scan - my apologies, but thank you anyway.
