Antimatter injector - Species 8472 is able to access Engineering through the antimatter injector port. (Prey)

Asteroid - When the Species 8472 creature is being pursued by the Hirogen, it tries to hide in an asteroid belt. (Prey)

Bioelectric field - The Doctor can only make a visual diagnosis of Species 8472's injuries because its body is generating a bioelectric field that he can't scan through. (Prey)

Body armor - The Doctor is trying to remove the Hirogen's body armor when he regains consciousness; according to the Hirogen, his body armor can defeat most hostile environments. (Prey)

Deck 11 - There is a hull rupture on Deck 11, Section 3 when Species 8472 comes on board Voyager; after Species 8472 accesses Environmental controls, Deck 11 loses life support and artificial gravity; Chakotay, Paris and the Hirogen corner Species 8472 on Deck 11, Section 59. (Prey)

Deflector control - Chakotay, Paris and the Hirogen corner Species 8472 near Deflector control; Deflector control is located on Deck 11, Section 59; the creature was trying to access Deflector control in order to open a singularity back into its realm. (Prey)

Environmental controls - Species 8472 accesses Environmental controls and causes Deck 11 to lose life support and artificial gravity. (Prey)

EPS manifold - When Voyager is attacked by the Hirogen ships, the ship sustains a direct hit to the EPS manifold which causes main power to go down. (Prey)

Force field - A level 5 force field is erected around the Hirogen in Sickbay; Seven erects a level 10 force field around Engineering to try to prevent Species 8472 from entering; when Voyager loses main power, the force fields on the ship go down and they must use auxilary power to restore them. (Prey)

Hirogen - The Hirogen says that the way a creature behaves when it is wounded is the key to its destruction; the Hirogen ship has a dicyclic warp signature; the Hirogen ship has been to over 90 star systems in the last year; the Hirogen are a hunting species and elements of their culture such as social rituals and religious beliefs are based on the hunt; they may be using some of their prey for food; they are a nomadic race and their existence is driven by the pursuit of prey; the Hirogen don't have a home planet; their ships travel alone or in small groups; the Doctor tries to sedate the wounded Hirogen but his immune system neutralizes everything; Voyager detects 6 more Hirogen ships on their way after the wounded Hirogen sends a distress call; diplomacy isn't part of the Hirogen lifestyle; the Hirogen doesn't see the Voyager crew as equals, but just considers them as game; the Hirogen body armor can defeat most hostile environments; the Hirogen severely wounds Species 8472 when he, Chakotay and Paris corner it near Deflector control; Seven beams both the creature and the Hirogen onto one of the Hirogen ships. Jeffries tube - There is a bulkhead collapse in Jeffries tube 84 after Species 8472 comes on board Voyager; Species 8472 leaves Engineering through Jeffries tube 17 Alpha. (Prey)

Nacelle - One of the Hirogen ships disable both of Voyager's nacelles so that the ship is unable to go to warp. (Prey)

Phaser - Seven modifies the phaser rifles to fire nanoprobe discharges; she says that a level 5 phaser blast will stun the creature. (Prey)

Polyfluidic compound - Tuvok and Kim discover a residue in the Jeffries tube that is a mixture of DNA and polyfluidic compounds; Tuvok determines that this is a sample of "blood" from Species 8472. (Prey)

Species 8472 - The Hirogen target Species 8472's thoracic crest when they fire on it; the wounded creature attacks the Hirogen and escapes; it comes on board Voyager after causing a hull breach on Deck 11; Species 8472 is highly resistant to all technology except Borg nanoprobes; Tuvok says that Seven has become increasingly agitated since Species 8472 came on board; Seven says that Species 8472 was the only species to offer true resistance to the Borg; they destroyed millions of drones and hundreds of the Borg worlds; Janeway wants to incapicitate the creature rather than kill it; it is injured by the Hirogen; the Doctor can only make a visual diagnosis of Species 8472's injuries because its body is generating a bioelectric field that he can't scan through; the creature was trying to access deflector control in order to open a singularity back into its realm; the creature was left behind when the Borg retreated back to fluidic space during their last contact with the Borg; Species 8472 begins regenerating and becomes agitated when it senses the presence of the Hirogen ships; it attacks the Hirogen on Deck 11; Seven beams both the creature and the Hirogen on to one of the Hirogen ships.
