EPISODE: PARALLAX

Astrogation plotter - This person was killed when Voyager was transported to the Delta Quadrant by the displacement wave and is one of several positions that must be filled. (Parallax)

Carey, Joe (Josh Clark) - He remains senior officer until Torres is promoted to chief engineer. (Parallax)

Chapman - Professor at the Academy; he wrote a letter in Torres's permanent file saying that he would support her if she ever should reapply to the Academy; he thought she was one of the most promising students he had ever taught. (Parallax)

Chief Engineer - This person was killed when the displacement wave transported Voyager to the Delta Quadrant (Caretaker) Torres was promoted to this position. (Parallax)

Deck 7 - Security is relocated to this deck so that Deck 9 can be shut down. (Parallax)

Deck 9 - This deck is shut down in order to divert more energy to propulsion. (Parallax);

Dekyon beam - Voyager used this to try to increase the size of the rupture in the event horizon. (Parallax)

Emergency medical holograph channel - Monitor relay 47 is the Emergency medical holographic channel. (Parallax)

Event horizon - The event horizon is a powerful energy field surrounding a quantum singularity; Voyager was trapped here. (Parallax)

Feragoit goulash - Neelix says that this dish of his is known across 12 star systems. (Parallax)

Field medic - Paris serves in this position since he has had two semesters of biochemistry at the Academy. (Parallax)

Holoprojectors - Spatial distortions from a quantum singularity were interfering with the projector's phase alignment and reducing the height of the holodoc by 5 cm every hour. (Parallax)

Hydroponics bay - Kes begins to sets this up in Cargo Bay 2 to grow food since replicators are down and emergency rations are running out. (Parallax)

Ilidaria - Neelix suggests that Voyager go to this system/planet to get assistance to help a ship get out of the event horizon; Ilidaria has sophisicated technology. (Parallax)

Monitor relay 47 - This is the Emergency Medical Holograph channel. (Parallax)

Nitrogeneated soil samples - Kes asks the doctor for 4 samples of this to help start the hydroponics bay. (Parallax)

Pejuta - Chakotay tells Torres that she should "bond" with Lt. Carey over a hot cup of Pejuta after she breaks Carey's nose in a disagreement in Engineering. (Parallax)

Quantum singularity - A quantumm singularity is a star that has collapsed in on itself; Voyager encounters a type 4 singularity which sent out strong spatial distortions; Torres figures out that setting up a localized damping field around the external sensors might allow Voyager to clear up the transmissions from the ship that is caught in singularity. (Parallax)

Replicator - The replicators are down and emergency rations are running out so Kes starts a garden in the hydroponics bay. (Parallax)

Spatial distortions - Voyager encounters a spatial distortion when they are in the quantum singularity; these distortions caused severe headaches, muscle spasms, and sudden wave of dizziness in many crew members. (Parallax)

Subspace tractor beam - Voyager uses this to try to pull another ship out of the event horizon. (Parallax)

Tachyon signal - Carey sends out a tachion signal to try to scan the quantum singularity, but all he gets back was static. (Parallax)

Temporal mechanics - Janeway says that one of the more difficult concepts to grasp in temporal mechanics is that cause can precede effect. (Parallax)

Temporal reflection - Torres and Janeway encounter a temporal reflection of Voyager after they return from widening the rupture in the event horizon. (Parallax)

Warp particles - Janeway and Torres decide to saturate the event horizon with warp particles hoping that they might be able to see them escape through a rupture that Voyager made in the event horizon when they entered the quantum singularity. (Parallax)
