EPISODE: NEMESIS

Ambassador Treen (Terrence Evans) - Ambassador Treen tells Neelix that the Kradin have been defending themselves against a savage aggressor for more than a decade; he is a Kradin; he helps find Chakotay by providing a commander unit to accompany Tuvok. (Nemesis)

Brone (Michael Mahonen) - He is the team leader of the 4th Vori Defense Contingent; Brone rescues Chakotay when the Kradin stake him to the ground upturned; Brone is going to join with the 5th Contingent to try to free the Larhana villagers; Chakotay discovers that Brone was just part of a Vori training simulation. (Nemesis)

Cardassians - Chakotay tells Rafin that he has been in battle before when he was fighting to free his people from a nemesis called the Cardassians. (Nemesis)

Comm badge - Chakotay's comm badge won't work since all dispatches in the clash zone have been surpressed. (Nemesis)

Daryo - Karya's brother; he is the team leader of the 7th Defense Contingent; Karya says that he left 2 plantings before and that he was sturdy and pleasing to glimpse in his colors; Karya gives Chakotay a message to deliver to Daryo. (Nemesis)

Defenders - Chakotay is captured by Vori defenders, but they set him loose when they see he isn't the Nemesis; Brone says that his defenders are new to the clash; the people in Larhana settlement think Chakotay is a novice defender. (Nemesis)

Extermination facility - The Kradin are taking some of the Vori to an extermination facility because they're gray and the Kradin think they're unfit to toil; the Kradin decided to take Karya there too when she tries to stop them from taking Penno. (Nemesis)

Fifth Contingent - The 5th Contingent is trying to free the Larhana villagers but according to Brone, it doesn't go brightly for them. (Nemesis)

Fourth Vori Defense Contingent - Brone is the leader of this group of defenders; Penno says that the 4th Contingent are sturdy clashers; most of the 4th Contingent is nullified by the Kradin. (Nemesis)

Glorified wayafter - The Kradin leave nullified bodies upturned so that they never descend to the glorified wayafter. (Nemesis)

Grove yellow - Rafin finds Chakotay here; Brone says that they glimpsed his vessel falling in grove yellow. (Nemesis)

Karya (Meghan Murphy) - When Chakotay wanders into the Larhana settlement, Karya greets him by putting a garland of flowers around his neck; her brother Daryo is a defender in the 7th Defense Contingent; she gives Chakotay a letter to deliver to her brother; when Karya tries to stop the Kradin from taking Penno to the extermination facility, they decide to take her there too; Chakotay discovers that Karya was just part of a Vori training simulation. Kradin - The Kradin are the Vori's nemesis; Brone tells Chakotay that the Kradin want supremacy in the air and will fire on any craft that doesn't show Kradin colors; Rafin says that the Kradin all wear the same horrid face and that their flesh is gnarled and blistery like rotting trunks; their glimpse is flame like fire and their breath smells of muck; the Kradin nullify the 7th Defense Contingent and leave the bodies upturned; they attack Larhana settlement and capture Chakotay when he comes back to help the villagers; Ambassador Treen is the Kradin ambassador; the Kradin help Tuvok find Chakotay. Larhana settlement - After the Kradin attack, Chakotay discovers the Larhana settlement; the Kradin attack the settlement and take the villagers away; Chakotay joins Brone and the 5th Contingent to try to free the settlers; when Chakotay sees the village intact and the villagers alive, he realizes that he has been brainwashed. (Nemesis)

Marna (Marilyn Fox) - She is one of the Vori at the Larhana settlement; she offers Chakotay drink and warm coverings; Chakotay discovers that Marna was just part of a Vori training simulation. (Nemesis)

Namon (Nathan Anderson) - He is one of the defenders of the 4th Vori Defense Contingent; he says that he will nullify one nemesis for each brother and cousin he's lost and then one moreafter; Namon volunteers to walk with Chakotay to find his shuttle; he is nullified when the Kradin attack him and Chakotay; Chakotay discovers that Namon was just part of a Vori training simulation. . Nemesis - This is the word that the Vori and Kradin use for enemy; the Vori defenders are drilled to abhor none but the Nemesis; the Kradin are the Vori's nemesis; according to the Kradin, the Nemesis are vicious and shoot without warning; they use biochemical weapons and routinely massacre civilians. (Nemesis)

Novice - Rafin and Namon are novice defenders; Penno says that Chakotay's coverings indicate that he is a novice defender. (Nemesis)

Omicron particles - When Chakotay was on a survey mission, he detected omicron radiation in the atmosphere of the planet. (Nemesis)

Penno (Booth Colman) - He is one of the Vori at the Larhana settlement; he is Karya's grandfather; Karya says that he is very gray and his heart's not sturdy; the Kradin are taking Penno to an extermination facility when Karya tries to stop them; Chakotay discovers that Penno was just part of a Vori training simulation. (Nemesis)

Rafin (Matt E. Levin) - He is one of the defenders of the 4th Vori Defense Contingent; he captures Chakotay but Brone tells him to set Chakotay loose since he is not the Nemesis; Rafin has never glimpsed the face of the Nemesis and it is his first walk in the clash zone; Namon says that Rafin has the trembles and that he must wrestle the trembles into rages or the Nemesis will nullify him; his village was flamed by the Nemesis and his cousins, brothers, and his mother's mother were nullified in their sleep by the Kradin; Rafin drills Chakotay to fire Vori arms; Rafin thinks that it is his fault that Namon was nullified since Rafin would have walked with Chakotay if he hadn't had the coward's trembles; Rafin is killed in a Kradin attack; before he dies, he asks Chakotay to turn his face to the wayafter; Chakotay discovers that Rafin was just part of a Vori training simulation. Re-stock Unit - Penno tells Chakotay that he may be able to find communication equipment to contact his ship at the Re-stock Unit; it is 10,000 footfalls away through the thick of the trunks. (Nemesis)

Seventh contingent - Brone wants Chakotay to come with them when they are supposed to cluster with the 7th Contingent 2 new lights from now; he says that they will have the means for Chakotay to signal his people; when they try to contact the 7th Contingent, they don't answer; they find about 20 of the defenders from the contingent nullified, upturned and staked to the ground. Shuttlecraft - Chakotay's shuttlecraft was attacked and it crashes on the surface after Chakotay is able to transport to the surface; Chakotay wants to try to find the shuttle to see if it's salvageable; Voyager determines that the shuttle crashed in the southernmost continent in the middle of the war zone; they determine that Chakotay might have survived the crash since there is no cellular residue on the shuttle. Vori - Chakotay is captured by Vori defenders but they set him loose when they see he isn't the Nemesis; the Vori's nemesis is the Kradin; the Vori crave to drive the Kradin from the planet since the Kradin flame their villages, take their plantings and make playthings of their sisters; Tuvok is able to track Chakotay to a Vori training camp, but Chakotay is already gone; the Vori have been indoctrinating Chakotay to fight their war; the Vori use a combination of photometric projections, heightened emotional stimuli, and highly sophisicated psychotropic manipulation in order to brainwash their own people and other aliens to get them to fight in their war; the Vori have dozens of these training facilities.
