EPISODE: FUTURE'S END, PART 1 AND 2

Aeon - This is the name of Braxton's timeship; it is about 6 meters in length; his ship appears out of a spatial rift and he attempts to destroy Voyager; the Aeon is pulled back into the spatial rift into the year 1967 and the ship crashes in the High Sierra on Earth; Starling steals the timeship before Braxton can retrieve it; he uses the technology from the ship to introduce new technology to Earth every couple of years. (Future's End, Part 1) He rigs the timeship to explode if Janeway tries to transport it or go anywhere near it again; Starling launches the timeship from Chronowerx, but he and the ship are destroyed by one of Voyager's photon torpedoes before he can enter the rift. (Future's End, Part 2)

Air Force - Voyager can't risk going into low orbit again or they may be intercepted by the U.S. Air Force. (Future's End, Part 2)

Alpha Quadrant - Janeway asks Braxton if he can return Voyager to the Alpha Quadrant rather than back to their previous position in the Delta Quadrant. (Future's End, Part 2)

Archeology - Chakotay says that if they were stuck on Earth he might pursue archeology fulltime; he could teach at the university or work at one of the important digs in Central America since there were still a lot of important discoveries to be made in the 20th century. (Future's End, Part 2)

Arizona - One of Chakotay's ancestors was a school teacher in Arizona. (Future's End, Part 1) Chakotay and Torres's shuttle crashes in Arizona 30 kilometers northeast of Phoenix; Janeway sends Tuvok and the Doctor to Arizona to rescue them. (Future's End, Part 2)

Astrometric readings - Kim says that the astrometric readings indicate that the year is 1996. (Future's End, Part 1)

Astronomer - Rain is one of the astronomers at the Griffith Observatory. Future's End, Part 2) She decided to became an astronomer after seeing the rings of Saturn in her brother's telescope. (Future's End, Part 2)

Astrophysics - Paris majored in astrophysics at the Academy. (Future's End, Part 1)

Autonomous holo-emitter - The Doctor is able to come with Starling to Metro Plaza because of the autonomous self-sustaining mobile holo-emitter that Starling has; Torres is still trying to find out how it works. (Future's End, Part 2)

Baja Peninsula - Chakotay is able to see the entire Baja Peninsula while he and Torres are in the shuttle. (Future's End, Part 2)

Barcode readers - Starling says that without him, there wouldn't have been laptops, the internet, or barcode readers. (Future's End, Part 2)

Binary system - When Janeway wants to upload the database on Starling's computer, Kim says it will take a few minutes to reconfigure Voyager's computer to Starling's binary system. (Future's End, Part 1)

Braxton (Allan G. Royal) - Captain of the Federation Timeship Aeon; his ship appears out of a spatial rift and he attempts to destroy Voyager; he tells them that he comes from the 29th century and is here to destroy Voyager since they are responsible for a disaster in his century; his ship is pulled back into the spatial rift into the year 1967 and he initiates an emergency beam-out before this ship crashes in the High Sierras on Earth; Starling stole his timeship; he was put in a mental institution for awhile where they filled him with primitive pharmaceuticals. (Future's End, Part 1) After Starling and the timeship are destroyed, Braxton appears out of the rift; he says that he never experienced the timeline where he had crashed on Earth; he takes them back to the exact time and place where Voyager first encountered the timeship. (Future's End, Part 2)

"Bride of the Corpse" - This B movie was the sequel to "Orgy of the Walking Dead"; Paris asks Rain if she has seen this movie. (Future's End, Part 1)

Butch - This is one of the men who hold Chakotay and Torres captive. (Future's End, Part 2)

Cal Tech - After Rain emailed a friend at JPL about what she detected in orbit, her friend called a professor Cal Tech who called Starling. (Future's End, Part 1)

Chateau Couer - Starling jokingly asks Rain if she thinks E.T. likes Chateau Couer. (Future's End, Part 1)

Chili burritos - Tuvok gets Chili burritoes, footlong hotdogs and goliath gulps for Paris, Rain and himself to have for breakfast. (Future's End, Part 2)

Chronowerx Industries - Starling is CEO of this company; Janeway and Chakotay go to Chronowerx to get info on Starling and to find the timeship. (Future's End, Part 1) Starling launches the timeship from the Chronowerx building. (Future's End, Part 2)

Computer age - Janeway and Chakotay determine that the computer age of the late 20th century shouldn't have happened since all the innovative technology was based on the 29th century timeship that Starling stole. (Future's End, Part 1)

Coral reefs - After the Hermosa quake of 2047, the whole Los Angelos region sank 200 meters under water and became one of the largest coral reefs in the world; it was home to thousands of different marine species. (Future's End, Part 1)

Dermal dysplasia - When Paris tells Tuvok to take off his shirt and enjoy the sunshine, Tuvok says he will not risk dermal dysplasia. (Future's End, Part 1)

Dunbar (Christian R. Conrad) - Starling's assistant; Starling sends Dunbar to Griffith to get the data about Voyager and get rid of Rain; Paris, Tuvok and Rain escape Dunbar in Rain's van. (Future's End, Part 1) Dunbar is able to beam Starling off of Voyager; Paris and Rain follow him into the desert when they believe he is moving the timeship; he tries to ram the van, but the shuttle destroys his truck. (Future's End, Part 2)

Ears - Rain notices Tuvok's Vulcan ears when his bandanna falls off; he says that they are a family trait; Paris tells her that he's very sensitive about them. (Future's End, Part 1)

Earth - Braxton tells Voyager that Voyager causes an explosion which destroys Earth's solar system; Braxton's ship crashes in the High Sierra on Earth in 1967; Braxton is from 29th century Earth; the Aeon and Voyager are both pulled into a spatial rift causing them to be transported to Earth of 1967 and 1996, respectively; Earth's computer age of the 20th century shouldn't have happened since all of Starling's "inventions" were based on 29th century technology. Force field - Chakotay detects a force field in Starling's office and is unable to scan beyond the wall; after he and Janeway are transported back to Voyager, he is able to disable the force field around the timeship. (Future's End, Part 1)

Fourier spectral analysis - Paris tells Rain that the curves on her fourier spectral analysis don't look so great and that she may have better resolution if she adjusts the amplitude parameters. (Future's End, Part 1)

Gigabytes - Voyager manages to upload more 3000 gigabytes of Starling's database before they are force to terminate the link. (Future's End, Part 1)

Graviton matrix - The spatial rift that opens up in front of Voyager has a graviton matrix. (Future's End, Part 1)

Griffith Observatory - This is one of the SETI labs that Starling is funding; Rain is an astronomer there; Rain met Starling at the Griffith Restoration party; the observatory is about 20 km away from where the away team beams down; Janeway sends Paris and Tuvok to the observatory to find out who sent the message and get more info on what they know. (Future's End, Part 1) The observatory is located in Hollywood Hills; Tuvok contacts Voyager from there by modifying the satellite dish transmitter to carry and receive Voyager communications frequencies. (Future's End, Part 2)

Hermosa Quake - After the Hermosa quake of 2047, the whole Los Angelos region sank 200 meters under water and became one of the largest coral reefs in the world. (Future's End, Part 1)

JPL - Jet Propulsion Lab; Rain emails a friend at JPL to tell them about what she detected orbiting the Earth. (Future's End, Part 1)

Kaplan(Susan Patterson) - Ensign on Voyager; Chakotay tells her to show the Doctor where Torpedo bay 1 is. (Future's End, Part 2)

KGB - Paris tries to convince Rain that the UFO she detected is a Soviet spy satellite that is part of a massive KGB operation; Rain says that the KBG doesn't even exist anymore since the USSR broke up 5 years ago. (Future's End, Part 1)

Laptops - Starling says that without him, there wouldn't have been laptops, the internet, or barcode readers. (Future's End, Part 2)

Launch activation sequencers - The launch activation sequencers aren't responding so Janeway goes to Torpedo bay 1 to manually launch a photon torpedo at Starling's ship. (Future's End, Part 2)

Locater signal - Paris tries to use the stereo from Rain's van to send a locater signal to Voyager; when that doesn't work, they decide to use the satellite dish from the observatory instead. (Future's End, Part 2)

Low orbit - Kim takes the ship into a low orbit in order to use the emergency transport to get Janeway and Chakotayu back to the ship. (Future's End, Part 1) Voyager can't risk going into low orbit again or they may be intercepted by the U.S. air force. (Future's End, Part 2)

Mess hall - After Voyager returns to the Delta Quadrant, the crew gathers in the mess hall for a toast. (Future's End, Part 2)

Metro Plaza - Rain lures Starling to Metro Plaza so that the shuttle can beam him on board. (Future's End, Part 2)

"Mr. Leisure Suit" - Rain calls the Doctor "Mr. Leisure Suit". (Future's End, Part 2)

NASA - Rain thinks they should call NASA when she discovers Voyager orbiting the Earth; Starling is able to convince her not to just in case it's a mistake. (Future's End, Part 1)

Nobel Prize - Chakotay jokingly says that he might win a Nobel Prize if they were stuck in the 20th century. (Future's End, Part 1)

"Orgy of the Walking Dead" - A poster for this movie hangs in Rain's office at Griffith Obseratory; Paris says that the movie is a classic; the sequel to the movie was "Bride of the Corpse". (Future's End, Part 1)

Parking enforcement officer - Tuvok tried to talk parking enforcement officer out of giving them a citation using pure Vulcan logic, but the officer gave them the ticket anyway. (Future's End, Part 2)

Pattern buffers - Starling uses the 29th century tricorder to disrupt the transport and overload the shuttle's pattern buffers; Voyager is able to beam Starling on board by locking onto the shuttle's pattern buffers and disabling his tricorder. (Future's End, Part 2)

Photon torpedoes - The launch activation sequencers aren't responding so Janeway goes to Torpedo bay 1 to manually launch a photon torpedo at Starling's ship. (Future's End, Part 2)

Polaron pulse - Voyager sends out a high energy polaron pulse to disable Braxton's subatomic disrupter weapon; the pulse knocked his navigational system off course. (Future's End, Part 1)

Porter (Clayton Murray) - This is one of the men who hold Chakotay and Torres captive; he thinks that the government sent Chakotay and Torres. (Future's End, Part 2)

Robinson, Rain (Sarah Silverman) - She is one of the astronomers at the SETI lab at the Griffith Observatory that Starling is funding; she met Starling at the Griffith Restoration party; she detects Voyager in orbit around the Earth by tracking the warp emissions from their engines; she does the planetarium show at the observatory on Tuesday night; she escapes with Paris and Tuvok when Dunbar tries to kill her. (Future's End, Part 1) She and Paris seem to be bonding on a cross-cultural level; she lures Starling to Metro Plaza so that Voyager can beam him aboard; Rains tells Paris that he is sexy in a Howdy Doody sort of way and that he is goofy sometimes but is probably the smartest man she ever met; Paris tells Rains that he's never met anyone like her and that he probably never will. (Future's End, Part 2)

Satellite - Voyager maintains a high orbit in order to avoid detection by Earth's surveillence satellites; Paris tries to convince Rain that the UFO she detected is a Soviet spy satellite that is part of a massive KGB operation. (Future's End, Part 1) Dunbar activates satellite com 47 in order locate Starling and beam him back to Earth. (Future's End, Part 2)

Secret agents - Paris tells Rain that he and Tuvok are secret agents, but she doesn't believe him. (Future's End, Part 1)

SETI - Griffith Observatory is one of the SETI labs that Starling is funding; Rain transmits the standard SETI greeting to Voyager's coordinates; Kim is able to trace the source of the signal back to the observatory. (Future's End, Part 1)

Shuttlecraft - Chakotay and Torres try to beam Starling onto the shuttle, but he uses a 29th century tricorder to disrupt the transport; the tricorder overloads their systems and causes the shuttle to crash in Arizona; the shuttle destroys the truck Dunbar is driving before he can ram the van. (Future's End, Part 2)

Soap opera - Neelix finds a intriguing form of entertainment called a soap opera; he says that the exploration of human relationships is fascinating. (Future's End, Part 1)

Spatial rift - A spatial rift opens up in front of Voyager; it has a graviton matrix and is artificially generated; Braxton comes out of the rift with his timeship; the Aeon and Voyager are both pulled into the rift causing them to be transported to Earth of 1967 and 1996, respectively; Braxton says that if the temporal matrix is not precisely calibrated before entering the spatial rift, it will cause a temporal explosion. (Future's End, Part 1)

Starfleet - Janeway tries to hail Starfleet after they reach Earth, but there is no reply since Starfleet does not exist yet in 1996; Tuvok says that the away team could have worn their Starfleet uniforms and no one would have noticed; Paris tells Rain that Starfleet Academy is an east coast school. (Future's End, Part 1)

Starling, Henry (Ed Begley, Jr.) - Starling is the CEO of Chronowerx; he funds the SETI lab at Griffith Observatory; he stole Braxton's timeship in 1967; he uses the technology from the ship to introduce new technology to Earth every couple of years; Starling introduced the very first isograted circuit in 1969; he is able to download over 20% of Voyager's computer data files by creating a downlink through the transporter beam. (Future's End, Part 1) The Doctor says that Starling's paranoid response to Janeway is indicative of bipolar personality disorder; Starling wants the Doctor to give him Janeway's psychological profile so that he can know his enemy; Starling goes to Metro Plaza to get Rain; Voyager is able to disable his 29th century tricorder and beam him onto Voyager; he suffers minor synaptic stress during the extended transport; he says that without him, there wouldn't have been laptops, the internet, or barcode readers; he wants to use the timeship to bring back more technology so the can start the next 10 computer revolutions; Dunbar beams Starling off of Voyager; Starling launches the timeship from Chronowerx, but is destroyed by one of Voyager's photon torpedoes before he can enter the rift. Stereo - Paris tries to use the stereo from Rain's van to send a locater signal to Voyager. (Future's End, Part 2)

Subatomic disrupter - Braxton fires some sort of subatomic disrupter at Voayger to try to destroy them; Voyager sends out a high energy polaron pulse to help disupt the weapon. (Future's End, Part 1)

Subspace technology - Voyager detects low frequency subspace readings on Earth even though subspace technology shouldn't exist for another 100 years or so; they localize the subspace readings to the city of Los Angelos. (Future's End, Part 1)

Tachyon emission - Paris detects tachyon emission coming from a truck leaving Chronowerx and believes that Starling is moving the timeship; they discover that a temporal transponder was set to give off the tachyon emissions and that the timeship is not really in the truck. (Future's End, Part 2)

Tactile response sensors - The Doctor feels pain and fear when Starling reconfigures the Doctor's tactile response sensors. (Future's End, Part 2)

Telescope - Rain decided to became an astronomer after seeing the rings of Saturn using her brother's telescope. (Future's End, Part 2)

Temporal explosion - Braxton tells Janeway that Voyager is responsible for a temporal explosion in the 29th century which will destroy all of Earth's solar system; the explosion will occur if the timeship's temporal matrix is not precisely calibrated when it goes through the spatial rift. (Future's End, Part 1)

Temporal Integrity Commission - Braxton says that the Temporal Integrity Commission scans time and detected Voyager over 20th century Earth and sent him to return Voyager back to their previous coordinates in the Delta Quadrant. (Future's End, Part 2)

Temporal matrix - If the timeship's temporal matrix is not precisely calibrated when it goes through the spatial rift, it will trigger a temporal explosion that will rip the time-space continuum apart. (Future's End, Part 1)

Temporal prime directive - Braxton says that he can't return Voyager back to the Alpha Quadrant because of the temporal prime directive. (Future's End, Part 2)

Temporal transponder - There was a temporal transponder in the truck that was set to give off the tachyon emissions to make Voyager think that the timeship was in the truck. (Future's End, Part 2)

Tennis - Janeway decides to take tennis up again after 19 years of not playing; she was on her high school tennis team; she played in a novice tournament and lost in straight sets. (Future's End, Part 1)

Theta band filter - Paris suggests to Rain that she might try using a theta band filter to improve the curves on her fourier spectral analysis. (Future's End, Part 1)

Timeship - SEE: Aeon. (Future's End, Part 1)

Torpedo bay 1 - Janeway goes to Torpedo bay 1 to manually launch a photon torpedo at Starling's ship; Chakotay sends the Doctor here in case Janeway is injured. (Future's End, Part 2)

Transaters - The transators in Paris and Tuvok's comm badges are disrupted by Dunbar's energy weapon so that they can't use them. (Future's End, Part 1)

Transporter - The main transporter buffer is damaged when Voyager goes through the spatial rift so they are unable to use the transporter at long range; Kim takes the ship into a low orbit in order to use the emergency transport to get Janeway and Chakotay back to the ship; Torres tries to beam the timeship into the Cargo Bay, but Starling is able to remodulate the matter stream and disrupt the transport; he uses the transporter beam as a downlink and uses it to get over 20% of Voyager's computer data files. (Future's End, Part 1) Voyager is able to transport Starling to Voyager after they disable his 29th century tricorder; Dunbar uses a satellite and the timeship to transport Starling right through Voyager's shields like they weren't there. (Future's End, Part 2)

Tricorder - Janeway uses her tricorder to interface with Starling's computer to bypass the encryption sequence that is preventing her from accessing it. (Future's End, Part 1) Starling uses a 29th century tricorder to overload the shuttle's pattern buffers and prevent Chakotay and Torres from beaming him onto the shuttle; Voyager is able to beam Starling on board by locking onto the shuttle's pattern buffers and then isolating and supressing the amplitude of the tricorder. (Future's End, Part 2)

Truck - Paris detects tachyon emissions coming from the truck that Dunbar is driving so they think he is moving the time ship; Paris shoots out one of the tires on the truck; the shuttle shoots the truck before it is able to ram the van, but they discover that the timeship isn't in the truck, but that Dunbar used a temporal transponder to give off the tachyon emissions. (Future's End, Part 2)

USSR - Rain tells Paris that the USSR broke up 5 years ago. (Future's End, Part 1)

USS Voyager - Braxton tells Janeway that Voyager is responsible for a temporal explosion in the 29th century which will destroy all of Earth's solar system; he says that debris from Voyager's hull was found in the explosion; Voyager stays in a high orbit so that it will not be detected by surveillance satellites; Rain detects Voyager in orbit around the Earth by tracking the warp emissions from the ship's engines; Janeway tells Starling that her ship could vaporize the entire building in the blink of an eye; Starling is able to download at least 20% of Voyager's computer data files by using the transporter beam as a downlink; Starling learns that Voyager was first launched in 2371. (Future's End, Part 1) The more legitimate news organizations think that the Voyager image is fraudulent, but the U.S. military is taking it more seriously; Chakotay says that they will use Voyager to ram the timeship if they have to; Braxton returns Voyager to the exaxt time and place where they first encountered the timeship. (Future's End, Part 2)

Van - Paris, Tuvok, and Rain escape Dunbar in Rain's van. (Future's End, Part 1) Paris tries to use the stereo from Rain's van to send a locater signal to Voyager; Rain tries to get Starling to go inside her van so that he can be beamed aboard the shuttle; the van stalls on the road after Paris shoots out one of the tires of Dunbar's truck; Rain and Paris jump out of the van when it looks like Dunbar is going to ram it with the truck. (Future's End, Part 2)

Venus - After his first year at the Academy, Chakotay went to Venus for a couple of months to learn how to handle atmospheric storms. (Future's End, Part 2)

Vulcans - Paris says that all Vulcans are hypochrondriacs when Tuvok won't risk dermal dysplasia by taking off his shirt and enjoying the sunshine. (Future's End, Part 1) Tuvok tried to use pure Vulcan logic to talk the parking enforcement officer out of giving them a citation. (Future's End, Part 2)

Warp emissions - Rain is able to detect Voyager in orbit around the Earth by tracking the warp emissions from their engines; the telescope at the Griffith Observatory has been configured to scan for warp emissions; no one is the 20th century should even know what warp emissions are. (Future's End, Part 1)
