Alazine - The Doctor gives Torres 10 cc's of alazine after she is found unconscious in sickbay. (Darkling)

Anaphylactic shock - When Torres is found unconscious in sickbay, the Doctor says that Torres is suffering a delayed anaphylactic shock from something she ate on the planet; the Doctor uses catoline to simulate Torres's anaphylactic shock in order to fool Janeway and Tuvok. (Darkling)

Byron, Lord (Christopher Clarke) - This is one of the characters that the Doctor interviews as part of his personality improvement program; the Doctor chose Byron because he was creative, poetic and a genius; however, Byron was also emotionally intense and even unstable. (Darkling)

Catoline - The Doctor uses catoline to simulate Torres's anaphylactic shock in order to fool Janeway and Tuvok. (Darkling)

Dermal regenerator - After the Doctor puts Nakahn's hand in the fire, the Doctor tells him that his hand will be fine after a couple minutes in a dermal regenerator. (Darkling)

Gandhi, Mahatma (Noel De Souza) - This is one of the characters that the Doctor interviews as part of his personality improvement program. (Darkling)

Holk - Janeway's Klingon physiology professor at the Academy; he permitted nothing less than excellent recall in his class. (Darkling)

Intra-spinal inhibitor - The Doctor use this to paralyze Torres from the waist down. (Darkling)

Klingons - Klingons lack the enzyme for metabolizing plants found on the planet; Torres ends up with an upset stomach after she eats a salad on the planet; Janeway took a Klingon physiology course at the Academy. (Darkling)

Lodge - Nakahn runs the lodge on the planet; the lodge was the last place that Zahir was seen before the attack. (Darkling)

Mikhal - A race of explorers that have a vast knowledge of the territory; Zahir says that the Mikhal travellers have small ships and often just pick a direction and go; they are peripathetic by nature and live for the excitement. (Darkling)

Nakahn (Stephen Davies) - One of the Mikhal explorers; after the Doctor's program goes haywire, he burns Nakahn's hand by putting it in the fire; the Doctor wants Nakahn to arrange for him to get a ship off the planet; Nakahn is suspected of attacking Zahir since Zahir was last seen in Nakahn's lodge. Osteo-regenerator - The Doctor tells Kes to include a osteo-regenerator in the med kit she is preparing to take down to the planet in order to treat Zahir; he tells her to use the regenerator until Zahir is stabilized. (Darkling)

Personality improvement program - The Doctor develops a personality improvement program so that he will have an improved bedside manner, a fresh prespective on diagnosis, and more patience with his patients; he interviews historical personalities and selects character elements that he finds admirable and incorporates them into his program; Torres tells him that he can't add behavioral subroutines into his program like that because they will interact in unpredictable ways; Torres deletes all the new subroutines so that the Doctor returns to normal. Plasma belt - Zahir tells Tuvok that Voyager should navigate away from a plasma belt in order to avoid the Tarkan sentries. (Darkling)

Scattering field - The Doctor generates a scattering field to prevent Voyager from tracking where he and Kes are on the planet; Voyager is able to turn off the scattering field and beam Kes and the Doctor back after they fall off the cliff. (Darkling)

Socrates - This is one of the characters that the Doctor interviews as part of his personality improvement program. (Darkling)

Sylleran Rift - Zahir asks Kes to explore the Sylleran Rift with him. (Darkling)

Tarkan - Zahir tells Tuvok Voyager should navigate away from a plasma belt to avoid the Tarkan sentries; they are so powerful and acquisitive that they will remove the entire crew, settle them on a moon and then take Voyager as a trophy. (Darkling)

T'Pau - This is one of the characters that the Doctor interviews as part of his personality improvement program; the Doctor chose T'Pau because she was a diplomat, judge, philosopher and one of the most logical minds in Vulcan history; she was also was utterly ruthless in the application of that logic. (Darkling)

Tropical Resort Simulation 3 - The Doctor activates this program and populates it with the historical characters from his personality improvement program. (Darkling)

Vorilium - One of the asteroids in the system is rich in vorilium. (Darkling)

Zahir (David Lee Smith) - One of the Mikhal travelers; Kes has been working with him to arrange an exchange of Voyager's medical supplies for his knowledge of the territory; Zahir asks Kes to explore the Sylleran Rift with him; he tells Tuvok that he values Kes's life as much as his own; Zahir is injured when someone attacks him and knocks him over a cliff; he suffers multiple fractures and skin lacerations and damage to his left occipital nerve.
