Comments: This is kinda sorta based on a book I read in 8th grade and I

Part 2

***
"So, what's it like, to remember just your name?" Kaoru asked, handing
Toshiya some food.

"It's alright. I don't feel bad about it at all, especially since you
are all so nice." Toshiya smiled and took the food, his fingers
brushing against the other's for a moment. A smile creeped up on Toshiya's
face and innocently he asked, "What do you think that the world will be
like... one hundred years from now?"

"A hundred years from now?" Kaoru narrowed his eyes and looked out
over the field. "Perhaps, it will be better. Maybe the poor will
vanquish and people will treat each other fairly. And maybe... maybe people
like us, you know, men who love men, will be common and accepted." He
sighed. "But, I feel war will come soon, more than one, and many people
will be killed. Maybe we all destroy each other and there won't be a
year two thousand."

Toshiya smiled. "You think about the future often?"

Kaoru stayed silent for a while, but then he sighed. "I don't know
what's in my personal future, but I have a pretty good idea on the future
of the world, i think. But I just gave up on myself. Pretty much what
comes will come."

Toshiya nodded. "I understand that. But, aren't you even going to try
to change the direction of the tides in your life? Aren't you going to
try to take control?"

"I don't know. It doesn't seem too important. After Kami died I... I
haven't had much will." Kaoru slowly ate, causing a silence to fall
over them. When they were finished, they helped each other pack
everything back into a basket and they started to walk along a path to the
mansion. "So," Kaoru spoke out, and Toshiya turned to him, "Do you
remember ANYTHING at other than your name? Anything about your parents or
siblings or home or... or loves?"

Toshiya bit his lip, wondering how much he could say without seeming
crazy. "Well, I remember a boyfriend."

"A boyfriend? Do you know if you're still with him?"

"Um..." Toshiya pouted. "I don't know. I remember something about
suspicion of him cheating on me ith his boss..." Toshiya looked up. "I
think I just kept onto it because I was lonely, you know?"

Kaoru nodded. "I understand lonliness well." He looked over to
Toshiya. "Do you think you loved him?"

Toshiya shook his head. "No, I don't think so. Just some silly
teenage romance... no... I wouldn't say romance, just sex."

Kaoru's eyes widened and he coughed. "What?! You had sex?! Before
marriage?!"

Toshiya mentally slapped himself. //Baka! They barely even kissed
before marriage back then! Sex is a big issue! He'll think you're a
slut!// Toshiya felt bad. //Now he'll never want you... ACK! What are
you saying "want you"? He's from then, you're from... er.. no... I"m
from then, he's from...// Toshiya clenched his fists. //It just wouldn't
work! You'll have to go back to your time one day or another..." But
as he thought this, another, stronger thought crossed his mind. //What
if I never get back?// Tears formed in Toshiya's eyes at the thought
and he stopped, leaned against a tree, and cried in his arm.

Kaoru snapped out of his shock into a new shock. "Toshiya!" He walked
over to the crying bishonen and put a hand on his shoulder as his other
fished for a tissue in his pocket. Toshiya turned and cried in Kaoru's
chest as teh older man held him close, trying to comfort him. When
Toshiya looked up, Kaoru dabbed delicately at the puffy cheeks. "What's
wrong?"

Toshiya opened his mouth to speak, but suddenly felt like he was being
pulled into himself. He looked down to his hand and saw himself
fading.

"Toshiya!" Kaoru gasped. "What's happening?"

"Kaoru..." Toshiya felf like crying again. //I'm going...// "I'm
going back home..."

"Home?" Toshiya faded completely away. "TOSHIYA!"

The first thing Toshiya noticed was that it was cold, and he was laying
in the field down the hill from the mansion. "A dream?" He rubbed his
eyes, but noticed the glove. He gasped and looked down. "Oh no! How
am I gonna explain this to dad?!" He pouted, but then remembered.
"Dad's friend..." Standing up, he ran best he could up the hill to grab
his bike.

The sun was setting and Toshiya had to ride fast to get to his
destination, taking the most abandoned routes possible to avoid his getting
noticed. When he got to his destination, he ran up to the door and
pounded wildly. "Katsura! Katsura!"

The door opened a sleepy blonde opened the door. "Who died?" He
rubbed his eyes. "Oh, I can't believe I fell asleep! Must be that hard
work sched--- Toshiya! What are you wearing?"

"Can I come in?"

"Ah, sure, sure." Katsura let Toshiya in and closed the door.
"Where'd you get that dress? It looks nice."

Toshiya bit his lip. "You won't believe me." He scratched his head.
"Anyway, can I leave this here and change into something of yours? I
can't come home in this."

"Why not? Your dad is perfectly fine with cross-dressing and
homosexuality."

Toshiya pouted. "Yukari will think I went shopping without him and
I'll get in trouble!"

Katsura smiled. "I guess so, but hurry. I'm having Mizuki and Rei
over soon."

Toshiya nodded and ran to Katsura's room, picking out some black pants
and a purple shirt. He ran out and posed, recieving an approving
signal from Katsura, and smiled. "Arigato. I'll bring them back tommarow!"

"Just bring them next week when Shaisuke brings everyone around."

"Okay. Ja!" Toshiya ran out the door and rode home.

***

"C... a... m... u... Camui!" Toshiya smiled as he found Kaoru's last
name. "Anrui, Akane, Akio... um.... lots of Camuis.... ah, Jubei, Kara,
Kasumi, Kaoru!" Toshiya read along the newspaper articles until he
came to 1901. "Death... suicide?" Toshiya gasped. "Suicide?" He bit
his lip. "Found by his sister Shinya, Kaoru commited suicide from the
pain of loosing the two women he loved, as dictated in his suicide note.
The ladies were Kami, a servent of the home, and Toshiya, a friend of
the family's that had disapeared just as mysteriously as she had
appeared. Three months after, Kaoru killed himself." Toshiya started to cry.
//I kill him?// He stood up and grabbed his bags. "I have to save
him! I have to go back, somehow I have to go back!"

***

"I'm dancing... dancing... dancing..." Toshiya twirled around in the
dress he came back in. "Dancing..." He sighed. "What am I doing
differently?" He bit his lip, then smiled. "Oh yeah! Close my eyes and
hum a waltz!" He started to hum as he closed his eyes, imagining he was
back, imagining Kaoru.

//Kaoru, I'm coming for you... I'm coming...// He kept on dancing, for
a full hour, but then realized it wasn't working. Tears streamed down
his face once more. "Kaoru..." he started crying loudly. "Kaoru!
Gomen ne! I'm trying! I'm so sorry it's taking long..." He started to
dance more, but sleepiness overcame him, and he kept on falling down,
but getting back up to dance more and more, but everytime falling back
down.

"Must dance for... Kaoru..." He tried and tried. "I have to save
him...." But he collapsed onto the floor as he couldn't stay awake
anymore.
