Raxl:
Maljardin lonely and unprotected at Midnight as the evil Erica threatens to take
another life and Holly faces an instrument of death created three hundred years
ago in the shadows of the Great House."
"Erica I
thought you loved me I thought you were beautiful and kind. But you killed my
mother. I hate you!" Holly says to Erica.
As Erica gets ready to strike she looks up, Quito has entered the Great
Hall. He starts walking towards her. Erica backs away "Stay away from me. Stay
away!" she says then starts stabbing Quito repeatedly. "Quito!" Holly cries out then starts
screaming. "Die, die!" Erica
screams at him as she continues stabbing him. She stops and looks at Quito. Quito backs away from her and stands
next to Holly. "No blood. Are you
invincible?" Erica asks backing away. "Well we shall see who is invincible."
Erica looks at Holly. "Holly, Holly come to me." Chimes sound on the room. "Come to me
Holly." Holly starts walking
towards Erica. Quito stands and watches helplessly. As Holly stops in front of her, Erica
turns Holly around. "You'll stay in front of me while we move away. Away." She
looks at Quito. "You move and I'll kill her." Erica says putting the silver nail
against Holly's throat. "Now I am invincible also." Quito can only stand and watch Erica and
Holly. "Holly dear I'm very sorry. You were so trusting, so devoted. But I need
more than devotion. I need your life."
Jean Paul rushes in. "Erica let go of
her. I said release her!" Jean Paul demands as he advances towards her. "You have no power over me Jean
Paul. Jacques Eloi Des Mondes is my Master." Erica says as she backs away with
Holly. Jacques starts to laugh.
"Let go of the girl, she's innocent." "Kill! Kill! Kill! says Jacques. "Don't listen to him Erica if you love
me." "I can't love you Jean Paul. I
love Jacques Eloi Des Mondes." She puts the tip of the pin to Holly's throat.
Jacques again is laughing. "You
have no power to stop me Jean Paul."
"I do Madam." Raxl says entering the room. She walks in front of Erica
and Holly. "Your Temple is
destroyed. Your Gods are powerless to help you." "I have my own powers." Raxl tells
her. "I have Holly and I'm not
afraid of you anymore." Raxl walks
to the fireplace. "You are afraid Madam of fire!" She says lighting a piece of
wood. "No, no. No fire, no." She
releases Holly as Raxl carries the lit torch towards her. "No please! please."
Erica begs backing away from Raxl. She sits under Jacques portrait. "Holly, Holly come over here." Jean Paul
calls to her. Holly walks over to him and Quito. "No. Take it away!" Erica begs. "Please,
please take it away! Please!"
"Quito have you found the boat?" asks Jean Paul. Quito shakes his head
no. "The tide favors the south shore. Search there." He looks at Holly. "Go with
him. Quit!" Quito stands and looks at Erica. "Raxl make him obey!" Raxl looks at Erica. "Quito if you are devoted to this
girl you must take her away from Maljardin. She must be saved. And Quito I will
not allow Holly's mother to be buried on this accursed Island. Take her away!"
Jean Paul says . Quito looks at Raxl. Raxl nods. Quito picks up Elizabeth's
body. "Go Holly." She walks behind Quito. "Go with her Raxl." "I cannot Master." Raxl says standing
over Erica with the blazing torch.
Holly turns around. "Jean Paul come with me." Jean Paul walks over to her and puts his
arms around her shoulders. "Holly listen you must leave now! Quito will see you
to the Main Island. I must stay with Erica. You must go." He kisses the top of
her head. "Goodbye . Goodbye Holly and live a long life. And be free from all
evil." He walks Holly to the door.
Holly looks up at him. "I don't want to say goodbye. I don't want to say
goodbye." "Quito!" Jean Paul
call out then turns Holly around and out the doors. She follows Quito. Jean Paul
then closes the doors. Erica
reaches out her hand. "No she can't go. Please! Please don't let Holly go." Jean Paul walks towards Erica with
hatred showing in his face. "I won't leave you Erica I promise you. We chose our
own fates you and I a long time ago."
"I don't want to die Jean Paul. I don't want to die." Jean Paul reaches for the torch taking
it from Raxl. "Raxl see that Holly gets safely to the Mainland." He walks to the
fireplace and throws the torch into it. Raxl hasn't moved. "Raxl I ask you for
the spirits of my ancestors obey me!"
"I am loyal to the Desmond family and to the ghosts of generations past.
I must remain with them entombed on this Island." "Think of the living and not the dead.
Think of Holly. Think of life!"
"I obey Master." Raxl says then bows. She follows Quito and Holly
outside.
Erica pulls
herself up. "Jacques don't let me die. Help me. Jacques answer me." She says
running her hands over the portrait. "Please help me. Speak to me Jacques." Jean Paul walks over to Erica. "Yes
Jacques speak. I challenge you." Jean Paul picks up the silver pin. "We have
ended our bargain you and I. You have failed to keep your promise. You have
possessed my soul. I wanted my Erica back . But you gave me a witch, a demon a
bride of the devil. The bargain is broken!" he says angrily. Shoving Erica away
he stabs the portrait again and again. "Done, it's done." Then he throws down
the silver pin. "It is broken!"
Jacques starts to laugh. "A bargain with evil is never broken." From
Jacques portrait blood runs from the stab marks. "It is done." Jean Paul says. Erica looks up at Jacques portrait.
"Jacques stay, don't leave us. Stay."
"Us. Not just you this time but the two of us. I'm touched Erica." Jean
Paul says as he looks down at Erica.
"Jacques don't leave!" Erica cries out putting her hand on the portrait.
She is kneeling on the floor, sitting down she looks at her hand. "Jacques!" Her
hand is covered in blood. "He's
gone." Jean Paul says walking away from Jacques portrait. Erica stands and wipes her hand on her
dress. "You can save me Jean Paul." Erica says walking over to him. "Save you! I? Oh you are an amazing
woman." "Don't mock me Jean Paul. I
need you now. I need you now more than I've needed anyone before." "Those words are better suited to your
lover." Jean Paul says with his back to her. "You are my lover." Erica says to him
leaning against him. Jean Paul
pulls away. "No." He walks away from her. "Let's talk. We're alone now you
and I together." Erica says walking up behind him. Jean Paul turns to her. "Till death do
us part." "Death. You mean mine
don't you? How can you torture me?"
"Easily my dear." says Jean Paul.
Erica looks away. "If I told you how I came here, how I came back to you.
Would you believe me?" "Tell me."
Jean Paul says angrily. "I am here
because I love you." Jean Paul
laughs. "It's true, when I was in
the coffin my soul wondering between darkness and cold I heard you calling to
me. You told me that you loved me and I wanted so much to come back to you. To
feel you, your touch. And I tried with all my might to cross the barriers of
death to come back to you. But I couldn't. Do you have any idea what it's like
to be suspended isolated in limbo forever?" Jean Paul stands listening to
Erica. "And my soul wasn't free to
cross to you because of you." Erica walks away from Jean Paul. "But you
preserved my body in a cryo capsule. To remain suspended between earth and
heaven for all eternity." Jean Paul
walks over to her. "Erica I wanted you back. I never meant you pain." "But I was in pain. My spirit was in
pain because you kept torturing me by calling me again and again through the
Conjure Woman." "Vangie was trying
to reunite us." Jean Paul tells her.
Erica looks at Jean Paul. "She hated me. She feared me and she prevented
me from coming back to you. I was powerless until the evil one. The evil one
came to me in the crypt and taunted me and tore the locket from my neck." Erica
looks away. "The locket you gave me. But he promised me I could come back to you
if I obey him forever." Glancing at Jean Paul. "What would you have said Jean
Paul? What did you say when he asked for your soul in exchange for my
return?" "I said yes." Erica looks away. "So did I. And I
risked everything. I risked my eternity for you. I didn't realize what I would
have to do in order to have my wish. To stay with you I must destroy. I must
kill." She looks at Jean Paul. "I love you Jean Paul believe me. I love
you." "If that's true." He says
standing close to her. "It's true I
swear it." "There's hope for us. If
Jacques has been destroyed then we are free of our bargain to him. We can forget
it. There is a chance for us, if you love me." "I love you darling." "Then we can leave here. Leave this
Island and all of its evil. We can go where no curse can ever touch us." Jean
Paul says to her. Erica turns away
in sadness. "I cannot leave the Island. I will die." "Jacques is gone, the spell is
broken." "He said an evil spell is
never broken." she says looking back at Jean Paul. "Erica trust me. We'll find a way." Jean
Paul says to Erica. "Can you? Can
you save me? Because for me to stay alive I need Holly." Jean Paul pulls back from Erica. "For me to stay with you I need her
soul. Find me Holly. Give me life! Give me Holly!" Jean Paul looks at her with hatred.
"Give you Holly. She's gone, she left the Island." "She's not left the Island. If she had
left I would have fallen lifeless at your feet. When Holly leaves I die. And you
set her free. You let Raxl take her to safety." Erica looks away from Jean Paul.
"You chose Holly over me! You chose her over me your wife!" "My wife!" Jean Paul shouts. "My wife,
are you my wife? I don't know. I can't trust you!" Jean Paul says walking
towards her and grabs her by the throat. "How many times have you lied to me?
How often have you used my love against me! My love, my darling invites
death!" "For you. To be with
you." Jean Paul shoves her away.
Erica falls to the floor. Jean Paul faces Jacques portrait. "What ever we are!
What ever we will be! We will not harm the world anymore! Jacques I accept my
fate. I accept my choice!" Jean Paul turns and looks at Erica. "And I accept nothing." Erica says
standing. "I do not accept . I do not accept your right to live, to breath after
what you have done to me!" "Erica."
Jean Paul warns. "I can escape. I
have the courage if you don't." Erica says walking slowly towards Jean Paul. "I
can survive without you." "So I'm
to be the last victim." Jean Paul says to her. Erica lifts her arm, the silver pin is
in her fist. "Be still my darling. I must press this into your heart Jean
Paul." As Erica starts to strike,
Jean Paul grabs her and spins her around "So this is love?" Jean Paul says
forcing the pin out of Erica’s hand. "And this too is love." Jean Paul says as
he hurls Erica away from him. Jean Paul walks over to the fireplace and picks up
a piece of wood. He turns towards Erica. "I will free you from your unhappy
existence. And when Maljardin dies in ashes Erica you and I will face our hells
alone." Jean Paul turns and lights the draperies. Erica watches in horror as Jean Paul
turns towards her. "Jean Paul!" she screams as he walks towards her with the
flaming torch.
"And now darling this is for you." "Take it away! Take it away!" Erica
ducks away from the torch and runs across the Great hall. "Jean Paul!" she
screams as fire surrounds her. She collapses into the flames. Jean Paul watches in horror. The mansion
is blazing as he walks to Jacques portrait. "Farewell Jacques Eloi Des Mondes!"
He lights the canvas. "An eternity in hell is not good enough for you!" Jean
Paul turns and stumbles through the flames to reach the outside doors. Opening
them he looks out. The mansion is engulphed in flames. On the outside of the
mansion Jean Paul falls to his knees.
Jacques starts to laugh. "Whether you live or die Jean Paul Desmond
wherever you choose to run your curse will follow you. And it will be for you
always a strange paradise."
"Maljardin, Maljardin." Jean Paul calls out.
[Due to so much action in this episode, I thought it better to
make 2 slideshows so as not to lose any of the action.]
