Big Art's Collection of B.E.A.M.* BOTS

'THUMBNAIL' FOR LARGER PIC
Most of my solar
engines are MILLER SE design and a few FRED SE when the bot doesn't weigh much,
such as a flag spinner. I use surplus mini-cassette motors, surplus Mabuchi
FF-030-PN DC motors for a buck each! 1381J's or 1381L's for the voltage low
voltage detectors, 1.0uF tantalum caps(they are very small), 1n4001 or 1n914
diodes and surplus calculator solar cells. I also use two-part epoxy for
sticking cells to motors, caps etc. I try not to solder directly to motors or
capacitor bodies. Legs and antenna are made from paper clips which I 'paint'
with a magic marker and I use colored heatshrink or colored electrical tape for
the 'visual effects'.
Update May 2002 ...... New Stuff will be added on a regular basis! |
