Travelling to Nailsworth from Stonehouse with Van in
tow we attended the event known as 'Festival Saturday'.
Nailsworth is of course a small market town a few
miles from Stroud and the route is pretty easy to take,
although extremely picturesque. Itravel this road
everyday to work and back and have done so for over
10 years, however I freely admit that I take it all for
granted. Leaning in the doorway of the Van and
watching the scenary pass by, I do feel a pang of guilt
that we do not really appreciate the landscape in which
we live and work.

On arrival in the town centre we do our best to upset
bus drivers, dustbin men and market traders (don't ask), before finding our spot and setting up shop. We then move off to take part in the 'Giants Parade', which consists of us, two stilt walkers and a fire engine. The infamous Renishaw Dalek was also involved and actually didn't hit anything this year and seemed to stay in one piece. The locals look on bemused, before we again take up our position and proceed to toot and chatter all afternoon.

Towards the end of our visit Alec, Leslie and Sam Tanner arrive to join the
fun (?) with there Bedford J-Type. A good laugh is had by all as insults,
banter and piss taken ensue. Three unfortunate young ladies who
appeared to have very little on were on the recieving end of a few remarks
as they passed by.....interesting stuff.

Alec had a spin at the steering wheel for the first part of the trip home,
which he seemed to enjoy. Of course the entire family can now be seen
out on there own Roller, a Clyton & Shuttleworth which is regularly rallied
in this part of the world.

The trip home was only hindered by rain, but that wasn't really a major
problem for us. Once your wet your wet. A good day out, interesting banter
and and a giggle along the way.
