MINIATURE ENGINE STOLEN

We don't usually feature Miniature Steam on these pages but we have made an exception in posting this message that was recently left on the Traction Talk pages.

The well known and very fine 2" Burrell Scenic Road Locomotive named "Excalibur" and Dragon truck was stolen yesterday night Thursday 26th May from the owners car in Arthur road, Rainham, Gillingham, Kent. Having been packed and loaded into the owners car for exibition at the Sellindge Steam Special this Bank Hoilday weekend near Ashford, south Kent.

Many of us on T-T would have seen this much admired and finely built  and well travelled model at steam events up and down the Country.

This model was built over 20 years by the current President of the Road Locomotive Society - Mr Ron Dawe.

It has his name on the tool box on one side of the engine together with the legend on the awning "Scenic Golden Dragons on Tour". The engine is of course painted in Crimson Lake with yellow wheels. Its weighs in at 2 1/4cwt or 125 kilos and 44" long 120cms.

Needless to say Ron is very upset about this ! He asks if anyone is offered his engine or knows of its whereabouts - please contact any Police Station.
