TO SERVE IN HEAVEN
Hell is a garden untended, dead grass under a grey sky. Cultivate it, love it and spring
will come. Hell is but a Heaven in winter.
But love did not bring Khan to Hell. He walks here supreme, but he walks alone.
He thrusts his fists at the sky, raging in frustrated vengeance. "Where are my
followers? Where is Joachim? Where is Marla, my wife? Where is Kirk, my enemy?"
None answer him; they are all in Heaven. Khan expected much from Hell, but never
this. For indeed, he rules in Hell, and he rules supreme. But he rules alone.
