Description; ALMOST the last Jedi Master reborn.

The 3" figure is a beautiful sculpt of Obi-Wan from 'SW; Ep. 4' in his simple Jedi tunic and brown robe.  The figure has an immense amount of articulation for a figure so small from Hasbro; ball-joints in the shoulders, elbows, hips, the works.
Obi-Wan comes with a cloth robe and lightsaber.

'Oh maaaaaaaaaaaan, ANOTHER reissue?'  Ah yes, Hasbro is going to the well AGAIN in releasing the figures from Eps 4-6 to coincide with the DVD release of the boxed set.  And you're all wondering 'Great, ANOTHER version of these freaking figures!  I got seven of 'em already!  Not including the boxed versions!'  From the on-set, Hasbro has promised these aren't just re-hashed molds but are DIFFERENT figures.  Well, how different?  These figures are an incredible testament to Hasbro taking the next step with
the Star Wars line.  They aren't quite as good as the Marvel Legends line, but these figures are very, very close.

The meat and potatoes are... wow.  So how good is the sculpting on Obi-Wan?  How much articulation can you stick into a 3" figure?  It's tempting to say not much.   Ah, but how soon they forget... remember those ancient Micronaut figures?  Space Glider?  Time Traveler?  Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh... and remember how many freaking JOINTS those figures had?  Oh yeah, baby!  The sculpture on Old Ben is EXCELLENT; capturing his beard, even wrinkles on his hands.  Gorgeous.  Ah, but it's the articulation that is stunning; ball-joints in the shoulders, elbow, and wrist joints that let the figure hold his light-saber in both hands.  Amazing stuff.

Perks are also very good.  Obi-Wan comes with a lightsaber that is an amazing replica to the one Ben used.  Oh, and the cloth is back; he's wearing a cloth robe.  Now this could be either a turn-on or turn-off for folks.  I actually prefer the molded, plastic capes because they look like they 'drape' on a figure.  This time, though, the effect works pretty well on Obi-Wan.  The only slight problem is the robe around the figure's arms is soooo big and poofy that it gets in the way of holding the lightsaber.  Doh!

Homer factor?  What makes this one so high is the high quality of the figure.  If this were just another re-painting of a past Obi-Wan figure, forget it.  What's the point?  But this ISN'T a repaint; this is a totally new piece with a lot of new perks and extras tapped on.

The final product is a gorgeous figure to behold.  And just think, 'Star Wars' on DVD is just around the corner!
