Toy Hype - Silver Centurion Iron Man, Marvel Legends Series 7, ToyBiz, continued
The main reason the armor has such impact for me is the story surrounding the armors Genesis.  As I mentioned in my article in The List, IM 200 was the culmination of years... and years... and YEARS of Stark having his world stripped away by Obadiah Stane.  Things came to a head when Stane sabotaged Stark's fledgling electronics company, and Stane thinks after this blow, Stark will crawl back into the bottle into self-pity and self-destruction.  WRONG.  Stark takes his demons in a strangle-hold, and throws on the Silver Centurion armor for a battle even Vince McMahon couldn't choreograph better.  Seeing years of conflict resolved in one issue leaves a mark on you as far as the story, and the Silver Centurion was a terrific suit to use for this incredible conclusion to an epic story.

Fortunately the folks at ToyBiz share my sentiments, because this figure looks awesome.  From the shots I've seen from the International Toy Fair, the figure is vintage Legends; TONS of articulation, an amazing amount of detail and great painting.  The piece is painted in metallic red and silver, holding true to the Silver Centurion moniker.  And rather then just paint the first Legends Iron Man red and silver, they've completely re-sculpted the figure to high-light the bulkier look of this model of armor.

Oh, and don't forget the accessories.  You GOTTA have accessories for a legends piece.  IM comes with a massive rocket booster that attaches to the figure's back.  The rocket pack comes with a special cowling that goes over the chest and shoulders of Iron Man to hold it in place.  Now, sorta bad news is he never had this in the comic.  Doh!  GOOD news, is it does still fit in with the nature of Shell Head, and it does look good with the figure.

So there you go ANOTHER piece from the Toy Smiths at ToyBiz to wait for from their ever impressive Marvel Legends line.  This piece emphasizes the beauty and incredible work Toybiz is putting into this line.  Every year, it seems like the figures simply cannot get better, or they've done all they could with a specific character or line of characters.  Then they produce a piece like this and prove you wrong, such as in this case with good old Shellhead.  Now, if we can just wait until September... aaaaaagggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!
