The scent of darkness
envelops the sheets
tightly wrapped in your arms
a battered old bear
a cool breeze
fills you lungs
mist now rising
from what was your floor
an echo of a yelp
surely only the dog
a hollow breathing
surrounds the room
you start to tremble
a wish for light
sweating coolly
a dead dry mouth
suddenly it fades
it's warm again
you soon realize
it's not over
you've just entered
my nightmare
