This game is just amazing really because of its wierd format of game play. A long game with good, bad, and neutral people. It basis a lot of the gameplay on keeping your Alignment high so that means your a good ruler, and your highly respected. At the start you have to answer questions to determine whether or not you are a good, bad, or neutral ruler, how you can tell which of them you are is because of what spell your Leader can do. If he does Phantom, your evil, if he does another spell...I forget the name of it but it only hits one target then your neutral and if your leader does Thunder he's a good guy. You have many stats which differ depending on what you do, you have alignment, charsima, and a Reputation meter. All determine the games endings and class changing.
So you answer cards according to the Tarot and then your set out to beat Warren, and after you beat him you get a large army to command on the up comming battle ahead. Your first real battle starts at the second battle. You start at your castle and you have to deploy your units and send them to towns to Liberate them from the enemies (this gets you money and a chance to pull Tarot cards which can be good or bad). Tarot cards have good and bad qualites, and depending on which unit you send to the town you could get bad luck. It all depends on your alignment, and if it isn't high you have a worse chance of getting HOLY cards which you need more then evil cards. Tarot cards also raise or lower stats on units also, making one team a power house and maybe another extremly weak.
So you do all of this, keeping in mind all that has been said then you possition your units as you please and slowly move them forward into the enemy army. They have a lot more units then you but they're significantly weaker. Once you've cleared a path or you've gotten rid of all the enemy army you must storm the castle where the boss awaits. Simple enough right? Wrong, unless your walking the bad guy path. The big problem is getting the best ending in the game and oh does it take some work. You need to collect all these items, keep a high reputation meter, high alignment and high charsima through most of the game which means you have to keep most units at lower levels then the enemies. Naturally this isn't possible unless you have a few power house bad guys on your team. Just make sure they don't liberate any towns with their low alignment or your reputation will drop.
